Anyone ever used Bravenet?

I am pretty new to the whole web design and domaining world, but could anyone give me some feedback on bravenet, mainly i was wondering if it is possible to place my own ads on it. also other than bravenet what are my best options for a web builder program for the purpose of hosting a forums like the one on namepros and similar. thanks
