When you do a search, quickly look at the first result you get. Then you will notice that 2 or 3 results kind of "sneak in" and push the rest of the results down. They don't look like AdWords ads, but they appear about a second after everything has loaded.

I guess this is a new advertising technique, because they all seem to be sponsored results without really saying they are sponsored results.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I noticed that too, a bunch of websites "under" the first result. I think the new links appearing are targeted on the type of search you do.

Your system is infested with adware/spyware

this is not adwords/google sponsors

I had this once, I know everything on my system so i notice strange files and stuff but this really was not hard to miss, my windows directory had loads of cached files, have a look.. otherwise refer to my post here for spyware removal tools as it aint google:

I'm 99% sure it's not spyware, because I find it pretty amazing that the spyware would:

a) come from Shopping.com
b) Actually change the HTML of the webpage to display ads

Its because of a spyware. Has actually appeared like this for me several times because of those f****ng spywares.

The ads dont exist on the site, they are injected into the cache of the page that exists on your computer..

Adware/spyware comes from everywhere, millions of sites use adware including yahoo.com.. adware is legal.

Your infested with it.. :)

I'm going to have to agree with BP. It is more than likely spyware.
I suggest visiting cnet.com and downloading Ad-Aware 6.0, it's freeware and it will clear everything up.

Kind regards,
William

Give an example of a keyword searched TSC?

I know what spyware/adware is, and I've run Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware for the last 3 months. And now neither of the programs are picking up whatever is causing these ads to show (which is why I assumed it wasnt).

This might be a slight different version from the one i had as i only ever used lavasoft adware remover and hijackthis..

But if you go back to the link i gave you to a past post of mine you should be able to find it hiding in one of those folders.. + your windows folder.. but i guess it all depends how well you know your system?

What you could also try is find the keywords, and then search your registry see if you come up with anything.. you may find the urls for them in there..

Start > run > regedit then find or search ..

Hope that helps..
