Anybody use StatCounter.com?

"Got a website? Get a StatCounter! A free yet reliable invisible web tracker, highly configurable hit counter and real-time detailed web stats. Insert a simple piece of our code on your web page and you will be able to analyse and monitor all the visitors to your website in real-time!"

Looks to have everything I need on a couple websites. Seems like ther should be a catch since companies like Websidestory, etc... charge anywhere from $10-$40 per month for what looks like the same data... :|

Any other ideas or refferals for this type of service?????
Thanks!

If you are interested, I am an editor for the Open Directory Project at dmoz.org . I use to be the editor of a hit counter and statistics category and I use to see lots of nice counters. There are free ones and ones you pay for. There are 2 links at the top "Ad-Supported" is the free counters and they arent all ad supported either, there are some free ones just as good as the ones in the "Premium" category which has all counters that you pay a fee to use. Here is the link to check it out http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/...omponents_and_Services/Counters_and_Trackers/

I have been using statcounter now for some time with all my sites...it works extremely well for a free service and is seemingly never down, highly recommended.

Good stuff Ro-z, I should remember to check dmoz more often.

I have signed up for StatCounter and have been pretty impresed. I'd like a little more download to excel, but seems to cover all the bases.

On the dmoz list I found the following that seem pretty good, any input from the NAMEPROS???

http://www.jellycounter.com
http://www.nextgenstats.com
http://www.w3counter.com

Again, no afilliate stuff - just looking for REAL answers not just click through $'s. Thanks for you input!

I have been using them for a couple of months for a popular website of mine. The statistics are very accurate, detailed, and the service is reliable. Excellent for a free service, and would no doubt use it for any other websites I have.

i don't use any, the control panel one is best. I also use counter4free.info (my site!) for a few sites.

Very clean website 1rrr1. Is that a template based site? Would have used it, but looking for a hidden stat counter. I've bookmarked it though for future projects.
Thanks!
