Anybody having probs trying to register a domain thru GoDaddy?

Spent an hour plus yesterday tring to register 2 me's and a com through G'daddy. Gave up in the end and registered them thru Name. The extra $5 it cost was worth the ease of registration.

Godaddys site has become a bit of a dog nowadays, and getting very time consuming, especially when trying to use paypal. Everytime i went thru the reg process it pulled discount codes from somewhere and inserted them into the cart which stopped me using paypal. I was even ready to use the non-discount prices but i could not get the cart to substitute those for me.

Now today trying to reg 2 coms it is asking me to provide alternate credit card details, and my credit card has still 2 years to go before expiry. No paypal option or use existing credit card option. Almost like i had not logged in. I tried resetting and logging back in several times but same thing. Provide alternative card details. Looks like Name.com again.

Godaddy is shooting themeselves in the foot with all of these dumb discount restrictions. Where did the nice clean easy site go? It has turned into a monster!! Hope they are listening...

There was never an easy checkout at GoDaddy. It's turned from a small monster into a big monster, imho. I think they do not do enough beta testing before releasing an update into the wild. I see this all over the place with GoDaddy updates, not only with their checkout.

Did you tried to use code that is only for USA- Canada? I had problem like this on yesterday, I wasn't able to pay godaddy for things that were not in promotion.

If you did it, use other code, it doesn't matter which one, but must be available to use for all countries.

I've been having trouble paying - but when I called they not only claimed it wasn't their fault, but they said they were fine with seeing me transfer all my names to another registrar. The problems only seem to arise when I enter a code first. That causes the system to reject all payment methods, even if I subsequently remove the code.

Between that attitude and the hassles trying to pay, I've had enough of this company.

As I said before, in this situation only helps inserting a new non-geo restricted code.

I find that if i do not enter a code it enters one for me anyway giving me a discount price, which was the normal non-discount price a year ago anyway. Here is the reply from GD. It may or may not help. Haven't tried their suggestions yet..........
