It is possible... I know many people who start niche websites and earn mid => high xxx from revenue per month. Find a niche, stick to it, brand it, and wait for revenue to come in :hehe:

The problem is that most valuable domains are registered. You can still make money with fresh domains but you will have to develop them. You will be lucky if you can get significant traffic with a brand new domain.
If you want to make money quickly your best bet is to invest in the purchase a (proven) traffic domain. PPC is the lazy way ie. park & go, and watch your revenue grow.

Do what some insightful domainers have done. Register a hot.mobi for$12.00, sell it for $200,000 like the owner of sportsbook.mobi did, ( not positive on that price, just my memory of it.) Then draw out $2,000 every month. You can live on that for a long time.

I know its not parking, but you asked if a living can be made today from domains. Lots of ways to make a living with domains, you just have to be ahead of the curve.

Of course there is.. depends on the domain.
There are still a shitload of domains available that are worth money. The guys that got in the domain industry in the 90's have a lot of it covered, but they are not that smart to cover everything. I'm still hand regging domains worth quite a few bucks.

Most of the .coms are gone... there are still a few gems, but finding them is like winning the lottery.

.co.uk and .de is where the money is now for newbies.

I find it shocking and very annoying with all the people buying up domains to just park somewhere or sell later.

I've tryed to email many people about buying some of their domains that aren't in use and they don't respond at all.

#1 Tip for making money off domains is make sure you actually monitor your whois email so that buyers can contact you!
You'll never know how much money you've lost if you don't.
