advice Any Success running hosting reviews/affiliate website?

I've been considering starting a hosting review website or a coupon site. I know some people do really well in this.
Has anyone found any success with either and can you share some ideas?
What are some available hosting review templates or scripts you recommend?
How do you become successful doing this? ex..advertise, right domain name, right info and website design etc...

That's one of the problems, it's so common they have themes for them.

You're doing what a lot of people do when first thinking about getting into affiliate marketing. Going after the same categories a lot of first timers do. Coupon sites being one of the most popular and competitive. Hosting very competitive. Trust me, you'll fail with these. Your best chance is finding something niche. A coupon site was my very first site, about 14 years ago. Got good press, Good Housekeeping, Woman's World, U.S. News and World report, was interviewed on local TV, local media from across the country, etc. I used to keep track on my site of media mentions, stopped because was getting too many. And it's about the same with any site. Search engines, PPC, social media etc. to get traffic. With coupon sites, it's usually merchant + coupon/coupon codes that bring in the traffic via search engines. You won't get of this traffic because the internet is flooded with coupon sites.
