Greetings dear enthousiasts!
I’ve just taken the first steps into the unknown and registered my first domain that is not completely without value (taxfine dot com)! Well, it’s not really my first domain, but it’s the first that I’ve registered with prior intention of selling it. That’s a huge difference in my opinion. For the past couple of days I’ve been lurking this site and I love the way people provide honest, argumented and cynical critique on names, strategies and expectations (perhaps to do with my Dutch cultural appreciation for directness?). This kind of attitude can be very instructive, so why not register an account?
To me this venture is a way to make some money on the side and improve my business skills. By that I mean things like targeting the right audience, understanding your customer’s perspective, devising a good name/phrase, checking intellectual property regimes, tracking market developments, negotiating prices, properly ransferring a property. Sounds like an awfull lot of tasks/skills for making a few extra bucks right? I can already tell this will consume a lot more time and effort than I originally had planned, but that’s life.
Making some extra money and improving my business skills are requirements for a project that’s been in the works for a few months. With the generous assistance of a few friends I’m planning to found a video game studio that focusses on politically incorrectness. In our opinion there’s a real market out there, as long as you are willing to focus on a niche and sacrifice the masses. Our first game wants to offer the player the opportunity to experience what it is like to be a cult leader (opens can of worms). Excellent ideas right?!...
There are many valuable insights and opinions out there so I look forward to learning from this community and its members. To prove to you my willingness to learn I invite you to criticize my first domain taxfine dot com.
