*** As was discussed lower in this thread, there is no trademark issue with this name***

OK, being the tech geek I am...

There is recently being released a new type of gas to replace accetalyn and propane..etc gasses for various uses. It is called MappGas. Its very new, so Overture is only roughly 900/month right now and very few google referances, but this is sure to grow..extensively.

so knowing this, please appraise:

www.MappGas.com

Thanks :)

Lee

"Multi-Application MAPP® Gas Torches & Kits by BernzOmatic"

Unforunately it looks trademarked already.

you suppose it would be safe for me to dev and market it as a reseller (affiliate) site?

Definitely not - the trademark + the category the trademark applies to would qualify as infringement.

actually your wrong (sorry to be blunt) as was I for not researching before replying :).

MAPP Gas is like Propane, accetalyn gas... not something you can "trade mark" I think that trade mark is for their torches, hence Mapp "R" Torches.

no tm issue :)

Searching more results - appears this way - I assumed it was similar to teflon - created in a lab by Dupont and thus entitled to a trademark.

ya, so did I when i read your post. :) No worries, I appreciatte you looking out for me in that way bro.

So whats your appraisal?

It's cheaper than the competition, more efficient, less "damage" to the tools using it, burns cleaner..etc.

After reading a couple of Google located articles -- it's still an elusive subject. I don't know what the potential of this gas is -- is it the next generation of propane? Or is it something much less ambitious. What will it be popularly known as? Probably MAPP gas...just my guess. But Im not sure about the first question - and that gives me no confidence to estimate.

yes, it will replace propane, butane, accetalyn..etc..dozens of different gas' from what I read and heard about it.
perhaps, but this is speculation, it could be used in the automotive industries as well eventually.. (or some derivative for it) but again, thats speculation.

Well if that is the case then you are sitting on five figure gold -- eventually.

Unless it is all speculation or the popular name for MAPP is something other than "mapp gas".

well I hope so :)

and as far as Ive seen or heard, its only been known as MappGas, ever.

Time will tell though. Thanks for taking your time here LoI :)

MAPP is a registered trademark for the stabilized liquefied
mixture of methylacetylene (CH3:C:CH) and propadiene (CH2:C:CH2)
gases. It is one of approximately 26 methylacetylene-propadiene
(MPS) gases marketed.

This one definitely has some value -- maybe low $xx wholesale at the moment.
