I look through many topics at all the wonderfully done photoshop logos. I realized that on most of them, there is always a nice little picture/clipart to go with it. Like i noticed the mouseFX.com and they had very nice mice and things. Where do they find these clipart images and pictures?????!!!!! I would REALLY appceciate an answer to this as this seems to be the thing that attracts people the most in logo creating. I have been trying to find this out for a long time.

Only Polarnet can answer that question ..although as a graphic designer myself i havent yet seen similar logo like what polarnet has done.

You know its really one thing to be original in your designs because it creates a unique identity for your company.

If you would like to have a customize logo or graphics for your site or company you can check my portfolio at :

http://bytesandpixels.com

Just click logos at the top.

I have loads of customized logos I made for my clients for minimal cost

just let me know if I can be of service to you

Practice, practice, practice. Nobody in the world can tell you how to learn something, it is a matter of trying it, if it fails, try again.

Try some tutorial sites like:

www.good-tutorials.com
www.tutorialized.com
www.absolutecross.com
www.zounix.com
www.pegaweb.com
www.tutorialman.com

Get to know Photoshop like the back of your hand, learn to use all the tools, use it as much as you possibly can. Then, soon, you will be able to make logos like some of the guys on here!

Hope I helped you in your quest...

Takes more than a couple of months dude! I've been using it for around a year now and I still can't make as good a clipart as some of the people on here (although I do think some of my work is good).

Also, you'll find that most of the custom shapes in Photoshop will give you a good start, you can edit them and cut bits out of them (with selection tool) to give you different ones, or even just use a custom shape as a logo!

Haha, now you'r appreciate it but it doesn't look the same for the designer himself.
In the most of times, all the beauty is the font. You can find really nice fonts here http://www.1001fonts.com/
have a fun.

Yeah, its usually made by the designer himself. Some designers specialize in this area, its really quite amazing :).

:hi:

Only noticed this post now :p

Yeah, I designed the whole thing myself, including the mouse. Took time and many vector editings, but turned out pretty neat.

I design icons and logos from scratch as well, and most of them are either using a Fireworks/Freehand combo or Photoshop/Illustrator, depending on my taste at that time. I prefer Fireworks/Freehand, as it's much more easier to navigate and use for professional editing.

Now, for stuff like the mouse and computer objects, you might be interested in various stock icon packages, such as http://www.kdpc.info/premade.php or others I made myself on request or bought from sites like stockicons.com, iconexperience.com, etc.

If you need any more tips, feel free to PM me :)

Cheers,
Anand
