Is there something going on with german names?

not sure. A mate has The Paper.com in "FRENCH" and cant sell it for anything.....

I'm skeptical about foreign domains myself, but I'm sure there must be some kind of market for them.

i read somewhere germans buy as many if not more domains than americans there the 2nd biggest market in the world so i thought id try with 1 german word and make sure it was a .com

Surely they would prefer the .DE extension then?

Good luck tho Stokes :)

As i see sedo's recent Sales,
a lot of the domains have the .de extension
or are great german names with a .com/.net/.org.
I have Emailen.com, whats means sending an email in dutch and german,
have some great offers turned down,
i think the german market is growing fast in domaining :)

Its still worth something. Find out who owns the .de and .info versions, find out who its competitors are, then offer it to them.

Thanks for the tip, stokie. Myself, I find it useful to check the .de version of the domain. My reasoning is that if the .de is 'live' and looks active, then its a shoe-in that the .info could be worth much more than reg fee to someone.

You could look at '.de vs. .info' in the same light as the '.com vs. .net', I guess.

Hi, I am from Austria, next to Germany..:)
So, Amtsverwalter.com is a nice name. But more for Austria I would say. Because it is a word not really used now, it`s a bit historic. People laugh about one who is like an "Amtsverwalter".
There are more "Amtsverwalter" in Austria, than in Germany...

It`s a fun name. Good buy!
And good luck!
