I dont understand ? Is it a Portmanteau of America and Vacations ?

Do USA people even use this term ?

Perhaps cos I am English that it does not compute .

Picked it up in an expired auction a while ago. Thought it was catchy and yes it's a mix between america and vacations.

Never heard anyone use this term but I've heard people use staycation/s which is also a portmanteau.
