Almonds aren't really a single focus product, and I don't think the keyword is in so much demand that you could expect much from the .io.
If it was Almond.io, I would say that it could have some appeal as a brand (you have to really do your research into sales trends for .io... single nouns sell much better than plurals), but I think adding the S kills the value. So it's reg. fee for me.
When you're buying .io, I think you really want to focus on:
Solid technology words/terms
Action words (i.e. verbs) - Give, Take, Forecast, Filter
Singular nouns with commercial or brand appeal - Fountain, Laptop, Bicycle
Descriptive words (i.e. adjectives) - Pivotal, Strong, Intense
3L names
And of course, the shorter the better (as a general rule).
