I just wanted to say something that I think is weird.

I am 18 years old. I still live at home. I went through the whole "I hate my mom and dad" stage like any other kid. I found out that, around the age of 13 or so, most kids stop "loving" their parents. I want to tell you my story though.

Up until my 13th birthday, I kissed my mom and dad every night and told them I loved them, like most kids. I stopped doing this, thinking it was too childish and too kiddy. I went with this routine for 2 years. Around my 15th birthday, my mom suffered a harsh hard attack. The doctors said that it wasn't too bad, but that she could have "the one" any day. I started kissing my mom and telling her I loved her again, as I did with my dad. My family was torn apart after this.

Recently, within the last year, we found out her heart was doing a lot better, and we never had to worry about "the one" again, at least not for a long time. But you know what? I still kiss my mom and dad, and tell them I love them. When I was getting out of the car to go to school throughout my senior year, I would kiss my mom and tell her good bye and that I loved her. Sure, I caught a lot of hell from my friends, but ya know what? I do love my mom and dad. I always will. You never know when you might see your parents for the last time, and do you really want their last memory of you to be "You got $10 so I can go hangout at the mall?" and leave without a thank you?

I am indeed a "momma's boy" and I am sure proud of it. Me and my mom are best friends, and I even go and clean houses with her throughout the week for spare change for feed the following week. I don't ask for anything in return; I do it out of the goodness of my heart.

So kids, it's not "cool" to hate your parents. Who gives a damn what your friends think if you still kiss your mom? I do it in front of my friends, and even when my mom would have to pick me up from school earlier, I hugged her and kissed her and told her I loved her. The faculty at my staff even noted a few times how amazing it was I was doing this - that they have never seen anyone act like that at my age.

So be a momma's boy or a daddy's girl. At the end of the day, you will feel a whole lot better.

I agree...we never know when will be the last time we will get to say the "i love you" words to them again. I still do. I'm 23 years old and still say it to them. I don't care what other people say. It's my parents not theirs:)

:'( I always fight with my mom as I got bored of she taking care of me too much. But sometimes I think I will repent all this. Don't know when it all started to happen and also don't know when it all stopped happening.

Although I never say I love you to my parents, they know that I love them already... Words just can't say it, actions tell...:)
