Here is all the available 3-char .NET domains as of this post. There are a total of 1,596 left. More and more 3-char .nets are disappearing everyday. Here is the breakdown of what's left:

Yeah, I noticed yl9.net was taken not long after I posted the domain. It might be time to make this list private.

Value is minimal right now but all LLN.net names have been registered (along with all the other "good" combos). More 3-char .nets are registered every day so the list of available names to chose from is dwindling.
There is a chance of future appreciation, only time will tell.

As for value right now, you're best bet is to go with a combo that has meaning, or has a developed site in another extension. Minus that, it's hard to put a value on them.
