Personally, I don't think the debate is AI vs. SI... Superintelligence is simply a future, improved version of the AI we have today. Superintelligence refers to intelligence superior to that of humans, and if we look at the latest AI models that have come onto the market, it's easy to understand that they are more intelligent than 99.99% of humans today (no offense intended). And what's coming is even better than what we have now, since technology is always advancing and always improving (Antropic says its AI is already improving itself, without human intervention). The future is exciting but also terrifying, and I'm not talking about the distant future. According to the major players in the AI market: OpenAI, Antropic, Google, Microsoft, etc... there will be tremendous changes in technology and in our lives in general within the next 3 to 4 years (2030). As a domainer, it doesn't matter if you prefer .AI or .SI domains, or if you find one prettier than the other. .AI domains have been very well received and in high demand due to their relevance to the industry. .SI domains are associated with Superintelligence, which doesn't mean they'll have the same success as .AI because we're at a point where .AI was a few years ago, before the ChatGPT boom. However, it's also possible that in the future, .SI domains will have more demand and value than .AI. Anything is possible. Domaining is a game; you bet on what might happen in the future... the same thing happened with .COM domains in the beginning when some visionaries registered dictionary words to sell them for millions of dollars years later. Most didn't see the opportunity. The same goes for .AI, .SI, etc... there will always be those with vision and many others who don't. The difference between .AI and .SI domains lies in the price. Registering a .AI domain costs $80 to $100 per year (minimum 2 years), while .SI domains cost between $12 and $15. This price difference allows you to invest in a few keywords and hold onto them for a few years to see what happens. The opportunity is here and now. Of course, you can enter later when the market is more mature, for example, by waiting and, if demand starts to grow, buying .SI domains from other investors to resell them. That's possible and part of domaining, but let me tell you something: it's not the same to buy a domain for $90,000 and resell it for $100,000, even if you make $10,000, as it is to register it manually for $12 and sell it for $100,000. That's not easy, but it's possible. To conclude, I just wanted to tell those who are enthusiastic to invest in .SI domains with sound judgment and common sense, just like with any other TLD or financial investment. There's always risk, so only invest what you can afford to lose. And to those who think .SI domains have no future, please stop wasting your time speaking ill of or against this TLD. It's just one more option in the vast ocean of domain investment. Dedicate your time and money to extensions you trust more and have fun... there's something for everyone without the need for endless, pointless arguments. I personally believe in .SI domains and invest in them. I don't own many, but I have a few that I think can give me a good return since they were registered manually and maintaining them is inexpensive. Good luck to everyone.
