Seems fair. Would be nice to have a domain break the nine figures without a business attached to it.

Well-said. This is a first in the history of domains! What seemed unattainable 5 years ago seems attainable now. But isn't this how civilizations rise up?

I mean shoot, people supposedly dropping $30k on Defai.fun then I would imagine AI.com is worth about $100M

Considering the fact that everybody is putting and planning to put AI into everything, the price doesn't seem outlandish to me.

But It'll be difficult to get an all-cash deal at that price.

If it ever sells for that much, a large chunk of the final price would be in the form of equity.

It'll be interesting to know what the owner of ai.ai wants for it too.

Worth every penny in today's tech climate.

$100M is a fair asking price in the current AI dominated environment.

It has all the ingredients of a record breaking sale: right domain extension, timing, billionaire's ready to bid, government's allocating tax-payer funds to subsidize billionaires, hottest sector for VC funding, and a broker with a history of multi-million dollar deal closures.

Seems like a legit public record shattering sale in the making but will any offers come in above $50M? Going to be very interesting to see if AI*com is sold within the next two years.

Such a super great domain.

I have not checked any data at all, but I wonder how ai.ai is doing during this news.

Until Sept. 14, 1995 .com registrations were free. Elequa of Future Media Architects bought it in 2004.

Larry Fisher needs to start responding to emails, until anger fills the jar.

That was not the selling price, it was the asking price. AFAIK it was sold in 2021 for considerably less and almost completely with crypto. It was not resold since.

This domain name is HiTech, is Art, is a tool and a brand. It is both a vision of the future and a cultural heritage.

Quite a lot of masterworks in art sold for more. Thus there will be a buyer for AI dot com. And be it for prestige.

Would you prefer to own this domain name or a painting like
Salvator Mundi by Leonardo da Vinci (even controversial), sold for 450 Mln USD
Shot Sage Blue Marilyn, Warhol, 195 Mln USD
Nu Couché, Modigliani, 170 Mln USD
Les femmes d´Alger, Picasso, 179 Mln USD
Lucian Freud triptychon, Francis Bacon, 142 Mln USD
No. 5, Pollock, 140 Mln USD
etcetera?

if u ask someone who can actually afford aicom or these paintings they will pick latter everytime

maybe thata the most important stat.. vs asking those who can never afford any of it

imo
