Does anybody know if it's worth paying the 20% vs. 10% commission for the expanded vs. basic promotion at afternic? I haven't used their services before. PS - unrelated, but, buydomains.com bought antiquecollecting.net from me last week and now they're selling it for $700 at afternic!!! 10x what they bought it for. Should have charged them more... the story of our lives here at NP!!!! :|

Unless your domains are selling left and right, I think it's worth it to pay the extra 10% IF they actually do get you more sales. Interesting to hear about antiquecollecting.net...let's see how fast/if they can sell it for that much.

the minimum offer you can set on expanded is $250, if the domain should sell for over $250 then pick expanded, paying 20% of a good offer is better than paying 10% of no offer, expanded should get your names listed on BuyDomains.com which should have more power than just listing on afternic, the more publicity the better, list at sedo, afternic, buydomains, moniker, forums, etc... just leave the domain at minimum $250 and make offer so your not bound to a sales price until they contact you for one after they receive an offer or if you wish to set a sales price figure the 20% into your pricing so the extra 10% comes out of the buyer's pocket and not yours, good luck with your sales.

Until we see some empirical evidence that sales are actually increasing and we are making more money, I don't see any value in paying the 20%. Although I would agree that exposure to all marketplaces is highly desirable.

@ allendesign - How did you know it was BuyDomains buying your domain? Or did you just come to that conclusion after seeing it for sale on BuyDomains?

They contacted me, paid me and I pushed to their account.

So you knew it was BuyDomains when you sold it. Was the domain advertised at that price, or did you give them a price. If I knew it was BuyDomains, I certainly would have asked for a higher price.

I was interested in your experience because I just recently sold a nice domain cheap since it wasn't producing any clicks/income, and a few days later I saw it listed on BuyDomains. So I was wondering if they are trolling the sales forums anonymously. Picking up bargains.
