Affiliate programs

Could you guys please tell me a bit about affiliate programs: which are the best, which have u used or had most success with, how much can u reasonably (on average) expect to make from them. What works and what doesnt etc?Please give me some information , opinions and advice, on the different types of programs.

An excellent site to check out might be http://www.cj.com Commission Junction They have tons of sites that are in the database there. I got $50 off of there in one month.
