I have decided to build mini sites out of my many domains.

My good friend is helping me on that (so far we have built 4 sites and many nearing completion) at cheap price.

The said mini sites are www.freecreditcare.com www.zuukle.com www.yonkersguide.com and www.discountinsurance.biz

I love the quality of work of my firend above not the cheap price. But one guy is strongly advising me to build my sites with Rick Latona's website developing firm aeiou.com

I checked aeiou.com and it is ok but I like genuine design and not worldpress, jamoola etc templates.

My questions are:

1. Do you think my sites above are ok?

2. Would you invest on original genuine web design mini sites?

3. Do you think I should build my future sites with aeiou.com?

Please be free to comment.It will help me and other readers.

A Minisite that look like the "Aeiou" minisites for $50 would be expensive
and $200 buys a LOT of promotion

I see people who make good looking websites(but no traffic numbers.good looking and traffic are not the same)
I have several sites getting excellent traffic.
minisite.info For instance has 50+ visitors daily

A small promotional Website like http://disability-scooters.info can be filled with unique content and promoted for less than $250. Way less in fact. btw I sell sites like this for as little as $50 with non-unique content.

I have built lots of minisites over the last 4 years and still build lots. There is indeed more to a minisite than a WP / Joomla! /Crappy HTML /whatever site with 1 article and 3 ads. It involves details such as effective use of keywords , most people use TOO MANY. Nice designs, Reasonable amount of content are also important.

One factor often overlooked is the resale potential. A crap name that is parked or has a lousy minisite is still only worth regfee. An effective minisite on a crap name can be promoted and resold for more than the minisite development cost. I do this all the time. For example http://fusionexplorers.com. Purchased as a 100NP$ domain. Sold to coreyg as BFT minisite , She has added additional Content/promotion. Now worth a LOT more. The basic name is still basically worthless , but the Minisite is worth $xxx mid to $xxxx low easily.

http://www.yonkersguide.com/ and your other 2 example sites is typical "MFA" site that google specifically prohibits in their TOS.

Other critique comments
1/ Too many ads for the amount of content
2/ Design is average to the extreme
3/ Layout is not good.

Does anyone care to share there numbers on forum as examples?

Wonder if the big man will make a comment on this and defend things??

i wouldn't pay that much for that domain if it's just going to be speculated

the obvious potential for end-users lie in language-learning programs, vocbulary, rosetta-stone type-things. etc.

Turds look shiny enough in toilet water...

Apart from the turd conundrum, I believe that some good points are being made here:

$250 is too much for an aeiou site for me;
There are people out there with no programming experience who want a site;
$250 may be worth it if they only want to develop 1 or 2 sites - is there much point in learning website development for just 2 domain names?;
Whilst people state its easy to build backlinks, its the same as for website development - once you know, its easy...

I've seen better sites for less at SitePoint. I've paid less for better site design.

For one thing, there's no contact page or privacy policy on any of the sites I've checked out. Aren't both required by Adsense TOS?

I recently bought a domain name that came with an AEIOU-designed web site. To me, a good programmer makes life easier for all of us. If I use this design, I have to go through every page where there's a Google ad and change the publisher ID#. I've bought web sites that have a config page and you just change the publisher ID there.

I also don't like that they are dependent on one revenue source (Adsense). And what's the point of spending all that money if you have to totally re-do?

I can do a WordPress site in less than 2 hours that looks as good as any of these and is easier to make changes to in terms of content and features. If it took that long to do social bookmarking, aeiou.com would charge more for their services. You can bet they're knocking out these sites and creating the backlinks in record time. I suppose if you have $250 and few internet skills, it's worth the money.

I see people talking about whatnot and everything apart from what really matters: making a profit.

I don't hear people bragging about how much these MFA sites are making so I'll assume they're not.

Is this the math?
-Cost = $2580 ($250 x 10 + reg fee $8 x 10)
-Rev = 0

$250 per site!
Almost certainly guarantees the average name will be underwater for a LONG LONG time - if the sites are around that long to even breakeven, let alone make a profit.
That's if G doesn't ban your a$$ or G's algos don't get smarter and more ruthless in culling all the crap around these days..

Look around, DNF are doing it for $25 per site (they've been doing it for years, it's not some new thing).
It's all auto-generated anyway.
Some kid in his bedroom would probably do it cheaper than all and better.
