Dear Friends,

I've recently invested $3,000 to purchase the Indonesian domain for Fly.com. My goal is to build a flight search engine for Indonesians. How do I go about building a system for this? What kind of platform should I use? Should I use somebody else's software or should I contact these airlines directly?

Your advice would be very helpful.

It depends on your budget. If you are looking for a quick and cheaper way to get started, I would go with a pre made software. If you have a larger budget I would definitely get a custom software solution made that you have 100% control over and knowledge of it's workings.

you need php language for that, and its some sort of application which get data for the main airport or there is some sort of airlines interaction ?

Yes, I have a whitelabel set up but trying to move the platform away from that so that I can maximize revenue.

I think it's hard to answer on your question. We need to know your situation in details. What languages do you know? What systems did you ever use? It's really important

It would depend massively of your budget, if you only have a small budget I would go down the road of using already existing software maybe you can even find some opensource software that will do the job. If you have a massive budget I would suggest hiring a developer maybe to build something in PHP or Ruby.

I may be wrong but most of the flying booking websites use affiliate programs with software provided by that program. Maybe you should
search around to see what kind of program you can find.

I think what you're talking about is rather difficult. What you have to do is learn from others. Firstly, find out who have already succeed in this field and check out how they did it and then copy it. You can succeed in every field if you use this technic.

Sounds like a very promising venture though. You need a big budget if you're aiming for that kind of website whether you use pre made software or hire a developer.

How did you buy fly.com with only 3000$? Or you mean you bought fly.(Indonesian extension ) for 3000$?
