Advice Desperately Needed on Web Design

Hi, I have some domains listed and would like to develop them. Sadly i'm not a techie and know very little about the web development scene.
I've seen lots of reviews for Xsitepro and most seem positive, so i was wondering if anyone can recommend this and if there are any Easy to use alternatives.
A few are going to be 1 page designs and i could always post on elance - but it would be nice to get to understand the design process and SOE optimisation myself.

I've never heard of it... I would personally hire someone from here to create my designs, especially if they are only going to be a page or two.

If your looking to get in to web design the only tool you really need is notepad, everything else is worthless. Learn to hand code your sites and your build better, and faster sites then people who use them kind of programs anyday.

But if your just wanting to do a few pages go with a free wysiwyg editor, (search google about it)
