I think that it would be a good idea if we had a forum where there would only be adults allowed. No... not for posting porn but where adult domains and sites can be added for sale/trade purposes. This would include certain credentials that are cookied into your browser that remembers that you are allowed to view that forum.
The only part of this process that I have not worked out is how to verify the users age...

Any thoughts or am I alone on this one? :hearts:

(hey i'm a senior member now :kickass: )

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Nice idea. Most domain forums have a separate section for adult site appraisals/sales/ etc...

Congrats on your "Senior Member" status.

I got tired of getting put down due to owning and posting Adult Domains so I made my own Adult Webmaster Forum where I am free to discuss/post anything I wish :)

A forum where we can advertise any domains would certainly be useful, not just for adult but for domains some may find offensive... somewhere to post domains where 'anything goes'.

Upon entry you could just agree to be over a certain age and agree you are not offended by such material etc or else not to enter.

I dont know if a cookie is a good idea, 2 people who use the same computer but different ages and accounts on here may be affected by this?

OT:
Hang on to that site, Mike. As I said, I'll help you promote your site. Just don't have enough time right now :)

Regards.

The easiest way to adapt such a feature would be if every user had to enter their age into their profile. Alot of people don't like this, so there would be some sharpe discussion over it, however, a small mod to choose whether you want your age public or not could reslove this.

We do have alot of adult content on the website at the moment, however I'm not sure whether we need a seperate forum for it to be honest.

Perhaps we should just stick to adding a strict rule stating that if your topic contains adult content, then you must put the likes of 'ADULT' as part of the subject title. Then again, this kind of thing would get anoying.

Interesting discussion. Would be nice to hear others views.

I find the naming of the post "adult" as both positive and negative results on the sale/trade of the domain taged as "adult".
many of us do it we title our for sale topic with the domain name offered- this has proven effective in most instances for myself and many other NP members.

I believe that adding an "adult" forum would be a good way of filtering topics on the site many NP members are only interested in aquiring and selling "adult" related domains, while others are learning that they too can make fast cash w/adult related domains are too now switching mind-sets from conventional domains to adult in search of the almighty dollar to compensate for there additction to purchasing domain names.

Yeah and thoughts on developing adult domain names etc can be added.

Exactly CoolGuy! This fourm has endless posibilites and we can isolate "obscene" topics/names there where individuals not interested would enjoy the pleasures of not having to filter through unwanted materials.

Seems like a good feature for folks interested in that category of domain names! :)

This would definitely be good. After all, what it's about is discussions ABOUT adult domain names and related issues, which needs to be addressed but which isn't given much attention simply because it "might" be offensive to some.

Sure, care must be taken, but it'd be a better industry if there's no taboo in discussing issues about this openly and letting important issues rise and be addressed by the community instead of people hiding whatever information they have, which would definitely be detrimental to many overall.

Adult domains, sites etc are big business on the web, so makes sense to have areas for discussing.

I would think like this would be unnecessary and not work very much. Kids wouldnt have to enter the right age if they didnt want to. Just take it that they are responsible enough to not go. Like me :p i dont go into that crap if its indicated maybe a forum would be good but trying to restrict it would not work.

Personally, I think the internet is a place of free speach and people should be able to post what they want. The internet is a dangerous place for young people and, well, its the parents job to take care of what the kids see.

Also, having the domains for sale in different spots would just be harder to organize and view. If you have them all in one place, its much easier.

Kode- that is what the goal of separating adult domains from ordinary use domains will do. It would make finding an adult domain easier to find and interact with potential buyer/seller

I wonder what you have to do to get some mod/admin interaction over here?

Maybe put a sign out: :lala:
