AdSense Templates OK?

Hi Folks,

I am starting to work on a network of mini-sites to capitalize on my unused adsense account. I have been shopping around the net for some adsense ideas and keep running across "adsense templates" which seem to be pre-designed content rich website templates targeted to adsense users.

Can someone tell me if using these pre-made templates is a smart idea or not?
I do not see any Google issues, but then again, I don't want any of my sites to be banned before they even get indexed.

Please advise if you can provide any info on this subject.

Well, one thing you might want to consider is that AdSense does not allow websites designed specifically to run AdSense code. Creating a minisite of your own is one thing, but you'd be hard-pressed to argue that a turn-key AdSense template minisite with static content that you bought was not put up solely for the purpose of generating AdSense revenue.

what you said make sense, but can someone verify this? Or has someone baned by google because of this? I have some adsense sites, and don't want to get in trouble.

Here's a quote straight from AdSense policies:

No Google ad may be placed on pages published specifically for the purpose of showing ads, whether or not the page content is relevant.

If you create a minisite on your own - even if you get your content from elsewhere, you can feasibly argue that you were simply so interested in the topic that you decided to make a site about it. It might be a bit hard to make such an argument with a turn-key AdSense-optimised site with pre-made content that you purchased.

With that said, I haven't heard of anyone losing their account due to that and I suspect that this statement really refers more to sites which contain only hundreds of links and a bunch of AdSense ads. However, do remember that AdSense being what it is, your chance of arguing your case should you ever get banned is slim to none.

I think purchasing contents should be OK, this is the same as if I hire a writer to write about certain contents giving him some guideline (such as keywords etc). However I do agree that somehow the google TOS does intend for you to design a website to target adsense. On the other hand, adsense does show you the "hot" zone, the ad's best location to best design your website to optimize your income.

I dont know about pre-made templates, but I can say that AdSense Informational minisites is the best way to "park" and monetize domains.

I never heard of anyone having problems because of this... minisites are currently experiencing an internet boom and AdSense really goes with them.

I agree that AdSense minisites are not against AdSense TOS - I'm just concerned that a site clearly purchased to generate traffic might violate the spirit of Google (that being, to promote quality content, at least officially) - and I somehow get the feeling that when it comes to suspending accounts for TOS violations, AdSense follows its unwritten code of practice as much as the written one.
