AdSense page impressions?

Hi, I wanted to ask about my adsense account. Currently my adsense accounts shows really low page impressions for some of my sites that I am using it on, completely the opposite to my hosting companies sats.

ie my hosting company shows my sites as getting say 5000 hits a day, whereas google shows about 100 page impressions.

Is this because my hosting company is wrong, or am I not understanding properly adsense?

Would be great is someone could explain this to me

Depends on what your hosting company calls a 'hit'. Some call a hit any call for any file and/or image on your website. So one page call might produce 40 'hits'. Look for unique visitors - that's much more accurate.

I was wondering about this also, im guessing - google adsense - is selective in quality of unique search hits, as apposed to lots of other weblink clicks etc.

But hopefully the guys here, will give a better idea and more info later, ok

yeah i guess the hits is not a sensible comparison. However the site visits (obviously a lot less than hits) are still considerably higher than my page impressions.

Adsense is just making me think that my site isn't getting as much traffic as I thought.

One of my pages for instance, about windowsmediaplayer is currently my top entry page to my site with about 200/300 url requests a day, however adsense shows about 10 page impressions a day for this page.

Getting a bit frustrated that Im not seeing the traffic I want

Blimey now I seem to be getting more clicks than page impressions!

Clicks and impressions are not always in synch; in fact sometimes it can take several days for one or the other to catch up.

Ind adword you can look this, in adsense i don´t now..
