AdSense for dummies

OK. I am new in Adsense and I am trying to find out how to let it know that I need to use certain category of ads on my sites, and I cannot find out where to change this option. For example, if my site is about calling cards, I dont want some construction business ads on my page, I want travel and calling cards ads. Where from can I make this change?

Also, are we alowed to put Adsense in the footer of a forum?

from my experience ads that appear from the adsense depends on the content of your page, if it's contain most of the words about cards, it will show ads about cards too.

you yourself can not pick what ads are shown, the google adsense bots will crawl your pages with the adsense code on them and will determine what the page is about and will then display ads based on the info they gather, sometimes it may take 24-48 hours for the ads to become relevant.

And about putting it in the footer of a forum, no your not really supposed to, it is not supposed to appear on only registration or log in pages, and if its in the footer it will appear on all the pages.

i dont understand, adsence is apperaing in this forum in some places...
where is one more question. I submitted one url for Adsence. and put code on this site. it was working perfect. and after it i read on their help that i may ad same code into my another site. WHen i did this on secound site everything is showing proper now, but on first site ad showing "the page cannot be displayed". what i did wrong?
