Adding Ad Spot On NamePros

Consideration is being given to adding a small advertising spot to NamePros in the unsed space in the top right of the layout. Forum members will have first priority in using these spots. Size would be 390x50 and there would be maximum three ads in rotation available for $5 day each.

Revenue would defray the cost of our dedicated server ($285/mo) with any additional funds going towards contest prizes and site upgrades.

I'm attaching an example of what this might look like. Please feel free to share your comments either way on the matter!

I think that it would help out the forums and only make it more popular. It would really cut down the cost so I beleive its good.

No objections here - whilst $285/month must be a nice taxable write off:blink: , I am sure RJ would rather have it back in the Top Line , rather than on the Bottom :red: !!

Why not? It would still be better than not having access at all. You could even dutch-bid the 5 weekly spots, subject to minimum bids ...

Agree with most of previous replies. Go for it. Just stay away from anything remotely connected with the term extreme animation

A good idea might to let adsense ads serve the non-occupied spots.

My fault, or at least I'll blame this one on my '15-clicks-to-respond' mouse... I must have accidently voted against ad's.. Sorry. I think there a good idea.
