Adding Ad Spot On NamePros

Consideration is being given to adding a small advertising spot to NamePros in the unsed space in the top right of the layout. Forum members will have first priority in using these spots. Size would be 390x50 and there would be maximum three ads in rotation available for $5 day each.

Revenue would defray the cost of our dedicated server ($285/mo) with any additional funds going towards contest prizes and site upgrades.

I'm attaching an example of what this might look like. Please feel free to share your comments either way on the matter!

Google offers these sizes

468 x 60 Banner 120 x 600 Skyscraper
728 x 90 Leaderboard 300 x 250 Inline rectangle

None of the sizes are ideal for NamePros, but I would consider using a banner or leaderboard at the page bottom if the member advertising mentioned above does not work out.

It's 10 pixels taller than my originally proposed ad size to accomodate the standard banner size. The ad management software I purchased has ability for Adsense-style ads, so it's possible we could offer low cost text links instead of banners.

Let's see how this goes, and be sure to let me know if this detracts from your NamePros experience.

hardly at all though i would like it a few pixels down so it centers in the silver area but it looks good as is also.

Correct, $5 gets banner in the top rotation for the day. Maximum three ads per day.

Whoa! Check out that great IBFree banner! :lala: I wonder who designed that!? :p

I'm a bit concerned about the top left Namepro's header... I don't like the way it's been enlarged... Theres something about it that looks really 'off'.

If your having trouble and need the actual image replaced to fit perfectly up in that cornor, let me know, I'll try and work something out, after all, I do have my copy of the NamePros logo that I traced for the banner!

Also, I wasn't actually expecting the banner to be that big... I was thinking a little small rectangle in the top cornor, shows how much I know my pixels, huh!
