A Simple Little Hosting Guide

When you are looking for webhosting it is very important to look for a few different things in the hosts you plan on going with. First off you want to study the host for a few days maybe even a few weeks. Make sure if they say they offer 99.9% uptime that they are actually up 99.9% of the time. Contact there live support a couple times under different names if possible. Test them, a host should know there servers. Ask them to tell you where paths are, for example. Where is php located. What version of php do you guys offer. Make sure they don't take a long time to answer it. They should know these answers right off the top of there head. There are alot of important aspects in web hosting.

2. Support
3. Server Speed
4. Server Reliability
5. Security

Them are just 5 important aspects i can quickly thank of. If anyone has anything to add to this it would be greatly appreciated. There is alot more information that can be said. :hehe:

That might be slightly problematic, firstly of all, not all the hosts participateat forums, though it's really good when they do, secondly, it's only one person from their support team and sometimes you can't say a lot about the efficiency of the whole team.

You do not use proper grammar, you use the wrong words in the wrong places "thank" instead of "think".

So take heed to the advice given, and clean up your act.

But your past will haunt you, there are many bad things about you and your "companies" on the internet and many forums.

I like when there is a comminity forum on the web site of the hosting company. It helps much to find out how this company works. For example, Ahosting.biz has it as a kind of support. And when I ask them different questions, they answer me very quickly. It gave me the idea of the level of their management and support.

Forum activity is good, it adds a way for potential customers to find reviews about the company - good or bad - and an additional way to contact the host, or to see if they are active.

For example, if they haven't been online in a while, and were a regular poster before, that shows signs of inactivity - possibly leading to slow support?

It's also a way to develop a small relationship between the member of staff and the customer.
