A question about the Enom drop process

If I were to backorder a domain that is currently registered with enom would they make that information public at club drop or just if it went to auction ?

I'm debating whether to just backorder at snap and hope no one else from enom places an order for it.

Any other tips or an overview about the enom drop process would be great :tu:

(I'll check back tommorow as its 2.45am... again, one day I'll get to bed before 3 :hehe: )

Thanks

If the domain is registered at Enom, it will go thru enom's Pre-release auction first. If nobody places a bid, it will go thru the normal drop process.

Hope this helps.

Thanks :) ...when it goes through the pre-auction - if I place a bid will other people see that I have ? ...and if someone has placed a bid in the pre-auction then does this mean they will get it when it drops ? Unless there is another bidder ?

Basically I am trying not to help get it noticed, whats the best way to do this ?.....place a bid in the last couple of mins ?

At the moment it looks like it does not have a bid on it as far as I can see

(never used them before)

Many thanks :tu:

In the pre-auction people will see if you bid, so it will be best to place a bid with-in the last couple minutes.

I think the domain should be in the auction about 50-52 days before it would normally drop. So keep an eye out for it. When it's in auction, it will be very clear if somebody has a bid in for it.

I thought the Pre-Release sales were at fixed Buy it Now prices?

Depends on the Domain.....
Pre-Release domains All have a reserve of $30 usd and Yes you Have To Bid.

Public Domains, use to be a Reverse style auction with a buy it now, and over time the price keeps dropping. I just looked and it seems like this is not the case anymore. I didn't see any with a BIN. So you have to place a $10 bid to start the auction.

there is a very strange thing at enom, sometimes no matter how high you want to bid, you will lose because of some low buy-now prices.

That's true for Pre-Release Public Auctions, but I still see Pre-Release Reverse Auctions for as cheap as $5 BIN.

confusing stuff :-/ I think I will probably just take my chances that it drops and backorder with snapnames

TDNam is a bit strange to......I found a name that was for sale in the offer section and the owner was asking $10 for it, I thought I would'nt bother haggling for it so I made the $10 offer - Now it is $25 ??

I think I'll stick to snap like I usually do ! :hehe:

Thanks Guys :tu:

If it's regged at eNom, you'd be better off backordering it at Club Drop. As for your TDNAM experience, they have several for sale models. You must have picked a domain which was asking for offers with a min of $10. They replied that they'd sell for $25. I don't see anything mysterious about that.

Not sure but it said the following:

Make An Offer

The seller is currently accepting offers
for this domain name. By making an offer,
the seller has 72 hours to accept, reject
or present a counter offer.

The seller's current asking price is:

$10

Enter your offer

I read it to mean he will sell for $10 which is his asking price ...so I offered him $10 - but now its $25 ?

I guess he changed his "current asking price" ??

Yeah. That's a "Make Offer" offer. I think the wording could have been better about the "current asking price". I'll point that out to them.

I did find it very misleading.

It now has two bids on it - is the $25 one the owners counter offer or another bidder ?

ref - ("I'll point that out to them") Do you work for them ?

Thanks :)

I don't imagine the counter offer is included as a bid, but I'm not qualified to make a proper determination.

Nope. I'm just a regular customer with an account manager.

another question, but about enom

Is there only that way to register as resseler (195 $)
to be able to bid on club drop ?

I thought you could sign up at Club Drop directly. I'm sure I did that at one time, so had 2 accounts there.

@ gazzip - it's probably no consolation but GoDaddy have agreed to update their next release of the tdnam software for "Make Offer" type offers. They are going to change "current asking price" to "minimum asking price" in order to overcome any confusion.
