A question about TDNAM auction

I wanna purchase a domain at TDNAM auction.

I checked its whois record, it shows

When I check the parking page of EXAMPLE.COM, it shows Notice: This domain name expired on 09/16/06 and is pending renewal or deletion

So my question is, what does this mean? If I purchase this domain though Buy It Now, then when will the domain be expired? 2006 or 2007? should I pay extra one year extention fee?

Many times when you make a purchase at TDNam they make you buy an extra year with it, so the domain will end up expiring in 2007. TDNam often auctions off expiring domains (anything that was regged at Go Daddy and is expiring). You can find a good deal once in a while there, but it will take 2 weeks to get whatever you buy at TDN.

Hi

Yes, upon winning the auction you will be required to pay 1 years registration for it on top of your winning bid price. This got me on a couple when I first bought on TDNAM without realising this.
