A Public Apology...

For the past month, I have been doing some serious soul searching about my overall online behavior, especially via comments on other people's blogs.

I want to make sure that my friends--and even the people with whom I may not have been so friendly--to have an opportunity to read what I have to say (in other words, my apology):

I'm doing my best to change my online behavior to better reflect the person I am in real life.

And especially now, after Harkster's passing, life is just too short to project an unhappy and bitter persona.

Thanks, all, and Peace!

Jennifer

I have never noticed anything rude from you at all.

Its nice to do a personal character inventory on ourselves once in a while though. I probably should do the same but im a little too busy right now...maybe next week. Lol

Best of luck to you in making yourself a better person but Ive always liked you anyways Jennifer. :)

Take Care
Vito

Thanks, Vito.

You have always been nice.

Mostly I have been okay here (after two warnings, well-deserved) but I have been a child-of-the-corn on some comment sections of some blogs.

Gah!

In the competition of who should apologize more... I would vote Vito and Myself above you.. though I don't know about your blog comments.

Do NOT Accept...Bad Behavior

but remember...

Don't Abandon Your Convictions

It's mostly about respect and then when you cross boundaries being big enough to apologize or sign up to an agree to disagree agreement. The only thing I've ever noticed with you is that you get quite passionate about anti-cybersquatting which is not exactly a moral low-ground.

I told Vito yesterday(?)... you should try not to burn too many bridges because you never know when you might cross paths with and might need something from.

Thanks, defaultuser.

I will stay passionate about the issues that are important to me, but I'll try to be less judgmental and find better ways to articulate my beliefs (and accept the fact that I may not always be right).

:)

I'm reading this thread and looking at my avatar and thinking.....

not sure what I'm thinking... but I did laugh at the irony.

Like your description child-of-the-corn...Have felt like that a time or two. Maybe the child-of-the-corn was right, but the argument negated because of the delivery.

"And especially now, after Harkster's passing, life is just too short to project an unhappy and bitter persona"

I also think life is too short to walk around pretending to be happy or not showing your anger or other unpleasant feelings. Interesting why it takes an event such as this or something similar for people to reflect and maybe evolve.

I totally agree with all of this, particularly this:

"Maybe the child-of-the-corn was right, but the argument negated because of the delivery."

Yes, delivery is everything, especially on the internet when words splashed on the page carry so much weight. In person, one can read body language and hear intonation, which can work with (or even negate) actual meaning of words, but the keyboard does not offer that added element.

Thanks for your insight, menzl.

I love this community.

Thanks for your humor, teks999. It's too hot for soup anyway--109 yesterday--so maybe no milkshake.

:)

And thanks, Namenut.

Takes a lot for one to publicly apologize, and to even realize there may be a need to. Kudos! The reality aspect is, one man/woman soapbox preachers, usually are their own audience. Peace to you too.

sdsinc: You give a lot to this community, and I admire you and your knowledge very much. We may sometimes disagree, but that's okay.

hawkeye: Thanks. It was just something I had to do. It's been bugging me for the last month.

You're right. Sometimes you can be really obnoxious.

Just kidding :)
