Hi - I have been trying to backorder a name in namejet (which is due to drop in less than 2 days) and which I found under Pre-Release but I don't seem to be getting anywhere.

I selected the name, put a price on it and clicked backorder.

The next bit said - Number of successfully backordered domains:1

but if I go to > My Backorders - View all - it says:

Displaying 0 - 0 of 0 listings - No data returned

Can someone who's used this system before please let me know where I am going wrong - Its the fourth time I have tried and I am now totally Bamboozled ! :-/

I can't even see where you are supposed to do any bidding ?

Many thanks

backordersmodule is timing out. it happened with me earlier too. but the domain gets added to the list and when the auction starts it appears in the respective section.

Yeah I've also been having a timing out problem aswell :| I hope that does'nt happen when the bidding starts ! :yell: I've lost a couple like that.

Where is the respective section - I've yet to find that :hehe:

I must admit I really liked the snapnames set up - easy to search, well laid out and very reliable - seemed like a very practical set up.

NameJet looks over complicated and not user friendly IMO - Hopefully it will be ok once I've figured it out more ?

.....so where do you actually do the bidding once the name goes to auction ?

....and can you see the names of the bidders like you can at snapnames ?

.

To go to the Auctions console just click on the "My Auctions" button on the menu bar. It will take you to something similar in Snap where u can see the domain and the max bid etc.

The domain names in this list are clickable. When u click on them it takes you to a screen where some info is there and also an edit box where u write ur new bid and another button which sez "Place Bid"

I guess becoz they are starting new, its only a matter of time before they fine tune everything and make it as good as any other auction site.

They are having multiple problems. I think all of us will be lucky to catch anything until they work out the kinks. Keep sending messages to tech support, that is a record of your interest in that name.

Unless I'm missing something, searching out LLLL.com names is a real hassle with NameJet. The system only appears to let you search for names of 5 characters and under and there is no number filter. Hence I have to look through lots of garbage names like 00px2.com to find the LLLL's.

Still, there's an upside. Many potential bidders will likely get caught up in this quagmire which will mean lots of cheap names for me... :santa:

Matt.

Thanks, Krossat - It looks like the name is where it should be now :tu: I think they were having a glitch cos the last time I checked it had an error message.

Is this a totally new platform then ? - For some reason I though it was the same enom one but I have never used that either.

Yeah, that looks about it, not very user friendly at all :td:

to exclude numbers/dashes click on Advanced Search on the top right (under the Search button)

there , there are also 4 simultaneous keyword searches (each with "contains" , "starts" , "ends" , "matches")

but unfortunately there is no specific number search ... in the front search 5/10/15 might be good for simpler navigation and for newer users ... but in the advanced (and possibly also in the front search) setting the exact number of characters would logically be better ...

Any ideas whats going on here ?

I placed a pre-auction backorder on a name that showed as dropping today or tommorow - If I go to my Backorders section it shows there is two bids but it now does not say when the auction starts - It just says -

If I check the whois details it says the name Expiration date of : 08 Sep 2008 with privacy protect

Any ideas - Has this been renewed, is it still going to be available for auction ? is this normal ?

Once again...I am totally confused with this set up :-/

I thought saying as the name was theirs already and it was a pre-release then it could not be renewed by a previous owner ?

if not - then does this mean all those bids being placed on the pre-release names shown on the homepage are for names that could be renewed at the last minute and may actually not be available ?
