As for the numerous phonecalls ........ well that is just plain rude and unprofessional, I will never use a service that spams me. This is real bad practice these Indian developers have gotten into. I say indian due to the fact the odd time I have answered a call there is always an Indian gent on the other end. They sound so disappointed when I say ...... I know how to do WordPress

I had the exactly the same thing happen to me last week. I got many calls from a few recent hand-regs claiming they are affiliated with GoDaddy and they are a web development company. They were from India as the county code came up on my phone...
I answered while driving home connected to Bluetooth... I had 12 missed calls last week just ridiculous... I don't fall for these scams but they are taking it to a new level by using whois contact information...

A few newbies could get caught out with it as they tend to go for those who hand reg domains...

I usually get 20 emails a day for about a week after a fresh reg, as for the phone I might just change my contact number to an .........adult service !

I don't get it. There must be some sort of degree of success for them to keep on. But how could they keep on for so long? I don't see how it's a viable career. Massive nuisance, just as bad as telemarketers.

It's just a law of averages thing, not everyone can make a website so the offer may seem appealing. Of course there are other options such as WordPress, wix and weebly. Most of the sites they offer are WordPress and sure they look good but it really is something anyone can learn. Everything on the internet is file management, just gotta learn how

It´s so **cking crazy!

For over 10 years i hold about 10-20 domains (for other reasons than domaining and even with real name/email/phone whois contacts - no whois privacy).

Since registered at NP and bought/regged a few domains they blasting me to death. Before that, i never ever got such emails (ok maybe one or two in a few years).

How about this one then. Baronets is me - it's a name I use as a pseudo-private registration service. The email address it was sent to is, of course, my address, but the sending address is exactly the same ie. The one I use for Baronets admin.

Do you think this is fake.

Wow you got an email from yourself?

Someone registered a IDN same looking domain for email usage?
Someone uses your email as sender address? (on bulk mailer you can get away with entering any sender email you want)

It's a spoofed email. I used to run an email server to get round the ISP wars in the last century. They used to delay emails that appeared to come from certain competing ISPs.

Similar here. It hasnt been this bad in a while.

New reg through name.com - no spam. New reg through namesilo.com - no spam. New reg through godaddy - received dozens of "offers" to build me wordpress sites, great seo, listing services, etc. The phone which I have associated with the whois has been ringing off the hook. Its so frequent that I am considering shutting the phone number down and getting a new one.

I've got a phone I got from a charity shop. I put £10 of PAYG credit on a new sim card, and that's the one I put in the reg details. I know that if it rings it's an unwanted call.

This is the problem, but would they have given up on the phone and used email so you could still have made the sale. I don't use a land line any more, so the chances are that I could be driving when the call come in.

I dont know the answer to that. I would hope that if they're interested they would exhaust all options to contact me - but I cant be sure.

Really in quandary now..

Have no idea how many webdesigners and developers i can hire on top of the existing ones.
But guess more is better.

I also don´t know how often those "Domain notifications" need to be submitted for my listing in search engines.

Now i´m going full-time with my new job of hiring designers and filling out those forms
