A New Player in the Online Auction Market?

If you are like me, you would love to have a viable alternative to eBay and the monopoly-driven eBay attitude. I happen to live in one of the two regions that this company has opened up shop in and they are becoming very visible here through an extensive ad campaign. They're model is based on the creation of a network of regionally based sites w/ the obvious benefits that trading locally has to offer. Additionally, they have an innovative "User Page" concept which provides each seller w/ their own independent page that is controlled by the user and allows the seller to modify listings on an ongoing basis.

ZZ STAR has the right dynamics and, apparantly, the capital, behind them to become the first player to offer eBay any serious competition, IMO, although, admittedly, any new entry into the online auction market has got a long haul ahead.

Check them out. They may be coming to your area soon. Tired of having to deal w/ eBay because they are the only player on the block? Than lend them your support.

They've got it down. Their concept is such a vast improvement on eBay it blows me away. They must have done their consumer research homework cuz their list of features reads like an eBay user wish list;

1) Your listing page is treated like it's your own website page.
2) They, even, give you a small choice of templates to customize the look of your site.
3) They allow you to link to your own site from the page.
4) Each locale has it's own individual ZZSTAR site which is autonomous. Because you are doing biz w/ people in your vicinity, you don't, necessarily, need to ship.
5) Going national will give them the clout that the avg local Ma & Pa local internet bulletin doesn't have, (unless you are a CraigsList)

Both my area and Colo Springs are traditionally used as "test markets" due to something in our demographics. (haha- I see stuff hit the grocery store shelf before most of the rest of you do :p) :laugh:
Their approach and the budget that they are throwing into their ad campaign, (which is really saturating the market), leads me to believe that they they have put together a well thought out marketing scheme that's gotta have bucks behind it.

If an outfit like this can't crack into the market, I would say that we are all doomed to live w/ the eBay monopoly for a long, long time.
