without your TV, Walkman, fm radio, all the material things outta your life and just you and your friends/loved ones all around you for a whole day. Talking and talking so much that your jaws hurt. going with your life partner for a long walk along side a canal and no more excuseme honey its an urjent call. just pure enjoyment. spending the evening in an orchid making your own BBQ, playing football with your kids/friends, climbing up a tree and picking the fruit right from the top of the tree and share it with your love, competeing with each other on who will trow his stones far enough in the lake. get your parents out in a park and spend some quality time whith them asking how you have been when a kid, and then seeing colored clouds at the sunset and finding the first star on the sky and watching birds trail going back to home wait for the moon to rise and making sweet love under open sky and then sleep tight with your arms around your honey wake up with the first beam of sun light and breath the fresh air and praising the God almighty fo rthat you hav elived one full day to its fullest. Lifes too short and I wish I have one like this sometime soon.

Dont know what i have been writting but I aint gonna read it again, I might not post it then :)

Anyways, When was your last day when you did not even check your email or may be see a computer?

Thanks God you have been rescued. So you didnt take anytime out intentionally to keep yourself from computer?

So no wonder, this is a busy world out there. Anybody watched Fight Club lately?

Thaths real food for thoughts for me. These material possesions makes you coward and dont let you enjoy some of the precious emotions/feelings dieing day by day.

I think i am quite sensetive today or is that you my love I am thinking of.

How could you even think of such a thing, a day without a computer..bring on the panic attack.

Last time while the power was out, I went and cleaned out my case, and was back on soon enough. Though when I go on a vacation with limited access if any at all, its very sad indeed. :hehe:

Very True!

I had to dig up fo rthis. read it long ago on a site and saved it. Some times I just read it to feel good.

Close your eyes for a while.....

Refresh your memories and go back in time....

Before the Internet, VCD and DVD.

Before semi-automatics machine guns, joyriders and crack ....

Before SEGA or Super Nintendo or Video Games...

Way back....

I'm talking about Hide and seek in the park or on streets.

The corner shop, Butter Scotch Candy, Mitchells Milk Toffee, Jubilee, football

with an old can, jumping in enormous puddles, Building dams.

The smell of the sun and fresh cut grass. Mayfair bubble gum.

A POLKA ice cream pop cone on a warm summer night, Wait......Watching Weekday 5pm evening or Saturday Morning cartoons...

short commercials, The Tom and Jerry, He-Man, Captain Caveman, Waltron, Walligator, Danger Mouse and Pink Panther.

Staying up late for Night Rider, Air Wolf or Power of Methew Star.

When around the corner seemed far away, and going into down town seemed like going somewhere.

A million mosquito bites, wasp and bee stings.

Sticky fingers.

Walking to school, no matter what the weather.

Running till you were out of breath.

Laughing so hard that your stomach hurt.

Jumping on the bed.

Pillow fights.

Climbing trees, building igloos Ice Lolies out of tiny amounts of snow.

Spinning around, getting dizzy and falling down was cause for the giggles.

Being tired from playing...

Remember that?

The worst embarrassment was being picked last for a team.

Water balloons were the ultimate weapon.

I'm not finished just yet...

Eating raw jelly, orange squash, ice pops.

Remember when...

You knew everyone in your street - and so did your parents!

It wasn't odd to have two or three "best" friends.

You didn't sleep a wink on Christmas eve.

When nearly everyone's mum was at home when the kids got there from School.

It was magic when dad would "remove" his thumb.

When it was considered a great privilege to be taken out to dinner at real restaurant with your parents.

When being sent to the head's office was nothing compared to the fate that awaited a misbehaving student at home.

Basically, we were in fear for our lives, but it wasn't because of drive-by shootings, drugs, gangs, etc. Our parents and grandparents were a much bigger threat!

And some of us are still afraid of them!!!

Didn't that feel good?

Just to go back and say, Yeah, I remember that!

Remember when....

Decisions were made by going "eeny- meeny-miney-mo."

"Race issue" meant arguing about who ran the fastest.

Money issues were handled by whoever was the banker in "Monopoly".

Theworst thing you could catch from other person was germs, and the worst thing in your day was having to sit next to opposite sex.

Having a weapon in school, meant being caught with a catapult.

Nobody was prettier than your Mum.

Scrapes and bruises were kissed and made better.

Taking drugs meant orange-flavoured chewable aspirin.

Ice cream was considered a basic food group.

Getting a foot of snow was a dream come true.

Abilities were discovered because of a "double-dare".

Older siblings were the worst tormentors, but also the fiercest protectors.

If you can remember most of these, then you have LIVED your Life!

...ahhh those days!

Wouldn't it be nice! I very much enjoy taking a break from my computer, letting the phone just ring and spending time with my family just enjoying being togeter! I try to do it everyday.

The January before last, I had nothing electronic, not even a phone or watch to use for three days. I didn't even know the time of day.

It was a three day retreat, where you were not allowed to bring anything electronic, nor did they provide anything electronic for you to use.

We were not even allowed to know what time it was. :!:

It was a bit hard at first, but I got used to not having my cellphone, computer, and other miscellaneous devices.
