This morning I check my email and see somone has bid on 7 of my .TV names at Sedo.

The bids were the minimum allowable, $100. I have no intention of selling at that price. I just added Jets.tv to my Sedo account and forgot to set the minimum offer higher, so they offered $60 LOL, I paid more than this LOL. I am not one of those ridiculous overpriced sellers, but I would still give these names a value of at least $500 a piece. The person who bid is probably on this board, so I dont mean to be rude, but Im not selling for so cheap! One good thing, it shows a good increase in .TV action! I have had 10 offers in tthe last 3 days!

I am curious, what do you guys think this package of names is worth?

Lions.tv
Bears.tv
Eagles.tv
Jets.tv
Cowboys.tv
Prints.tv
Censored.tv

Censored.tv offer is from another buyer, timestamp was different.

i gotta tell you guys, these names worry me as a package.

individually you can argue they are generics (e.g. eagles.tv could be about our proud national symbol). as a package, someone might make a UDRP case that you are not really going after generics but instead after certain trademarked sports teams.

I would fragment ownership of these personally if I were a long-term holder or sell at the first decent price.

I am also not sure what the monetization model is. If you make eagles.tv about the football eagles, then the team is unlikely to be amused. if you make it about, well, the bird, then I am not sure how valuable that is.

Well I have sold these names! I know they worry you, but owning names is not usually what gets you in trouble, parking/developing names with competitors ads is what usually prompts a letter. I never parked those names so it was a non issue. Anyone can sue me and I will claim bankruptcy protection. I have had a few run-ins with Microsoft and Amazon so I am familiar with the routine, its part of the game. The fellow who was having Sedo bid wars finally contacted me on another board and made a good offer! I got $XXXX for 5 names. Paid and pushed already. I still have Censored.tv and Prints.tv. They both received some average bids, $350 and $200 each. This brings the one week total to about 13 offers this week for .TV alone and 5 sales! Imagine what other sales are happening out there! The other names I had interest in were femaleescort.tv and classicmovie.tv

Thanks for the advice everyone!

I think everyone bidding on Sedo anymore bids the minimum. At least that's the way it's been on my names 90% of the time.

When I refer to the minumum, I always set the minmum bid to $100 - at least!
