CORRECTION:
I think I spread the good news too quickly. :'( They just moved the interface around a little bit.

I just pulled a domain into my Godaddy account today and I was forced to check the tick box where you agree to allow them to prevent the domain for being transferred for 60 days. Same with changing WHOIS. :(

About time!! thats great news. This was one big reason that used to keep me away from bidding on some GoDaddy domains that come up in auction sometimes. Especially if they had less than 6-8 weeks of reg left.

So this is definitely a good thing. Plus, pushing domain is a lot easier now too... no more having to fill in entire form of info - just email and userId is all that is required now! Thank god for that..

;)

Same here. I don't register domains at Godaddy but it just makes it much easier for me to get the Godaddy regged domains I buy .. out of there!

Godaddy should've had the new, simplified push interface years ago!

This is probably going to get other registrars to reduce the transfer lock duration as well.

what about domains you purchase from tdnam from their expired auctions, usually they have a 60 day lock on those?

Another story. The 60 Day lock still exists for renewals and registrations as it protects them against chargebacks.

I'm trying to transfer one domain (under 60 days - change of contact / account push) out to another registrar now...

I'm happy about that. Not so happy about the renewals though. New registrations, ICANN still has their policy of 60 days hold (afaik). So GoDaddy aren't entirely complying with ICANN... yet.
