Hi Peeps

I have all my domains parked at Sedo for the time being, whilst i'm learning about DNS protocol and landing page monetization, and they are all registered with godaddy except one which is with 123reg.

Whilst it's free to park and make your site available for offer, i was a bit shocked to see they charge 58euros just to start an auction, and then they take 15%. Yet godaddy only take a percentage and you can auction whenever you want.

Is it really worth paying up front to start an auction on sedo? especially with newly registered domains subject to the 60 day transfer rule? Sedo value all of mine above £300 which tempts me to try and gain a quick few bucks but i wonder if that is just a very generous estimation.

This is perfect learning by DNS protocol. It is the best godaddy percentage

I think the idea of this €58 is that not every idiot sends his crap to auctions!!!

It may be worth it when you have a really great domain name. But a newly registered domain name is usually not a great domain name.

Sedo appraisals mean nothing. Just like appraisals from Estibot, Godaddy, and every other domain appraisal system out there, mean nothing. It's best to simply ignore them.

I guess that makes sense, a bit like charging a membership fee for an exclusive club to keep the trouble out.

I would say it's the opposite. The names sent to auction are all horrible. People just waste more money for domains that nobody wants to buy.

well at least you can list up to 10 domains, i would say no point in listing any less than that if it will cost you upfront. i saw helloswitzerland dot com sell for $2500 on sedo

This means nothing; it even could be $100 and people would try to sell their medium stuff there.
