City of god was surprisingly very good for a subtitled movie, if you haven't seen it, you should check it out, it's based on a true story.

I almost forgot one of my all time favorites.....Crossroads (the one with ralph maccio), awesome flick, especially for guitarists.

Yup... you know it's a crap list when they leave out Braveheart and Star Wars (4: New Hope)

The sequels that were a bit dissapointing ruined the chance for the matrix to have prestige as a great 'classic' movie in the future.
I agree that the sequels failed to live up to the first movie, but the original Matrix was one of the greatest and most influential movies ever made. I think they had a larger task ahead of them than Lucas did while they were creating the sequels. People were expecting to be blown away like they were by the first movie but the novelty and originality were difficult to recapture. It doesn't change the fact that the original Matrix was an incredible achievement, and it kicked ass IMHO.

They pick something like The Breakfast Club and leave out classics like The 7 Samurai, etc ?

Pretty good list but I'm surprised films like Harvey, Halloween and The Time Machine (original) aren't on there?
