Im interested to know is there anyone out there apart from these guys K.Ham
F.Schilling Marchex BuyDomains to name a few that actually buy large portfolios?

I own hundreds of names myself but I also broker domains for a select number of clients and I would love to hear if anyone out there knows of people or companies that buy large portfolios in the $xx,xxx, xxx figure?

Look forward to reading everyones thoughts!

Regards,

Robbie

There are many new investment groups & exisiting ones also, other than, mentioned. If it was so easy, then we could sell million dollar names every day. :D

Do your RESEARCH !

G'day, with that many X's i think you would have to be looking at fund managers, hedge funds and private equity groups. I cannot imagine too many individuals looking to splash that kind of money around on domains at present. I think Chinese buyers may be the best place to look though.

Thats alot of $ zeros D-: How many Traffic zeros do they have ?

Did you try any of these ?

http://namemedia.com/

"NameMedia is a leader in the acquisition, development and trading of digital real estate through a network of highly targeted websites and a marketplace for premium domain names. โ€ฆ And weโ€™re just getting started."

Intersearch.com

Off Dnjournal - "One of those large portfolio buyers in 2005 was the InterSearch Group, a company that spent over $11 million on portfolios that included gems like IRS.com. Dan O'Donnell, the CEO at InterSearch.com, told us the domain industry enjoyed an ongoing rebirth in 2005 as well as its coming out party in the larger business world."

http://www.digimedia.com/portfolio.php

www.Oversee.net

"Oversee.net, a technology-driven online marketing solutions company, announced that it acquired over $7 million in domain portfolios during May and acquired a total of 66 domain portfolios in the past ten months. More than 40% of these portfolio owners have completed repeat sales with the Company."

I did have a few more but I can't find the list :|

I thought this was a sharing site for domainers!

I know if it was that easy we would all be millionaires but hey you remember the people that help you get there and you forgot people who dont!

Thanks to everyone else for sending there information!

I wont forgot!

Would we get commission? :P

Honestly, I don't see how any of us, who mostly do this as a hobby or perhaps make a meager living from this would know of which companies buy portfolios for $xx,xxx, xxx. Clearly not a lot of them out there though unless you bring some company/fund over to "the dark side".

NT true

also all the big companies bought 'back in the day' or buy off each other when they do spend or large coorporations.

if they sense you are a normal guy they will give you an insulting bullsh*t offer. re: buydomains

sorry but just advertise your site on auction platforms, all the usual places and put up a conspicuos for sale page on your domains if you like, no better place, but if there was an angel investor somewhere who would pay the market value of our domains we would all be over there

The amount of domain portfolios that are actually worth $50million is probably about a dozen. We are talking about portfolios returning $3-$5million+ per year assuming the names are high quality.

In regards to some of the mentioned buyers Intersearch/banks.com is almost bankrupt and last I heard iReit was (unsuccessfully) trying to sell their own portflio. As of now I would say Namemedia and Demandmedia are perhaps the only companies in a really good position to do an acquisition of that size, maybe Reinvent aswell. Perhaps Oversee is another though they seem to be in contraction mode. The days of the portfolio buying sprees are now long gone, "circa 2005-2007".

what are your top ten names in this $XX,XXX,XXX portfolio?

i'm guessing this figure is what you think your portfolio is worth. i'd be willing to bet that many of the experienced domainers here on Namepros would value it much less.

So, please share some of your top names. if you really have several high-dollar names, you will get some good advice here.

i did just see a couple of the names in your signature, females.com and favorites.com. if you have several more like these, then you will certainly have some interested buyers but likely not in the 50 mil range.

What's the point of doing something that makes you a "meager living"?
Thats BS.
Maybe that's why you're not making a good living off of Domaining. You take it as just a hobby and assume only 'special' ppl make the real money. :alien:

Now this might seem like a stupid idea - but if your portfolio is one of the few Grade A ones out there i'd contact Rick Schwartz and see if you could arrange a one off uniqe portfolio auction at the NY Traffic event or something similar.
They could advertise the hell out of it - it would be huge talk in this industry - which in turn would spread to others. End result: Almost all possible parties who would be inteersted in the portfolio would be aware of it's upcoming sale.

Or how about using Sedo. I'm not talking about speaking to your Account rep - go to the top.
If the portfolio is as good as you say - all the right doors will be opened for you.
I'd be inteersted in seeing some of the best names in the portfolio.

Not if he is brokering the portfolio. I am assuming, that the thread starter is a broker.

I was'nt suggesting that one individual could cough up $ 50 mill in one go but there are many people who are in a position to afford a 5 mill or so purchase if the names are good enough....a couple more below.

Having a broker with zero knowledge and contacts is about as useful as a parachute with a hole in it. :hi:
