advice 5 steps to successful sales for a newbie

Id like to share my selling method with the community. It has worked well for me and hope that some of you also have success.

I would first like to point out, this is selling strategy, not about purchasing or registering domains. If you do not invest in good domain names then this method may not work for you.

#1 - list everywhere (sedo, afternic, godaddy, namejet, flippa, namepros)

#2 - ensure all of your domains are pointing to a for sale lander on efty, sedo, afternic or undeveleoped. I personally use efty

#3 - Listing on namejet/ namejet auctions helps get your domains a lot of exposure to potential buyers

#4 - Same as #3, flippa is great for getting exposure. List your whole portfolio there as make offer. its free... post a min offer.. I usually use $99. Also list on godaddy as make offer, min $25.. has led to lots of sales for me in the past.

#5 - Sedo and afternic are the two platforms that work best with buy it now pricing. If your realistic with your pricing then you will get sales.

Fine tune your cocktail. Just ensure your names are listed as as many marketplaces as you can.

Some places you can pay for ad space that will get you good exposure for your auctions:

DSAD.com
TheDomains.com
Namepros.com
Namebio.com

Hi Judge Mind.
how do i buy domains to re sell them?

4 of the 5 steps above worked for me (I'm not new but will answer anyway.) I don't sell on NameJet so cannot comment on that although I know it works for others.

Marketing online like social media also works for traffic and offers. Happened to me just today again for a name I threw out there got an offer and accepted today.

@fregosok read the forum and you'll find many answers. Welcome to NP as well.

just one question, i see that i need an enom account to sell domains on namejet, when do the domains have to be on enom to sell. i ask because of the 60 day lock i have on godaddy. do i have to wait until unlock or can the domain be locked in the pre sale time?
After your domain sells you’ll need to transfer from your registrar to enom.

Thanks for this info.

@JudgeMind Since my Afternic listing is already syndicated to Godaddy, does listing again on Godaddy (as you mentioned in #4) offer any advantage?

If I list again as make offer on GD and the initial Afternic listing subsists, what will a potential buyer see when they search for the name on GD?

If you list at godaddy it will over ride the listing at afternic

Thats what I do but at $50 minimum, yes its worked for me so far. I only hate about Godaddy cut.

I'm not aware of a way to list a portfolio for sale (as a portfolio). You send them the list for review (whatever qty you like) and they are listed individually.

I thought it might be a good idea to bump this 6 month old thread...

Maybe @JudgeMind can add some new thoughts, advice... :xf.smile:

Perhaps some people who have followed his advice can share how it has worked out for them? What issues have they encountered and how they dealt with them?

Full disclosure: I'm one of those many people who haven't followed @JudgeMind's advice - yet! For one reason or another, listing wise, my substantial portfolio is still... secret! :banghead:

Aiming to correct this ASAP... have close to 4,000 domains to list (n)(n) Hence this thread reincarnation...

just curious, how you came across squad? someone recommended or you just randomly stumbled on it one day on your own?
I just stumbled across it. I had actually searched in google for a domain I was interested in buying and lander on a squadhelp for sale page. Started looking into them and liked their strategy and saw a great opportunity. I have 154 names listed with them now.

Almost the end of the year. Wanted to share my strategy for this year:

Squadhelp again brought a few sales this year. Currently have 574 premium listings with them and so far in 2020 I’ve sold 19 premium domains. I’ve also adopted their WLM service and have made 8 sales on there since starting with them.

Afternic with The fast transfer partner network enabled again was essential for making sales. Sold 28 domains on Afternic so far in 2020.

Other sales:

4 sales on Sedo
3 sales on epik
1 sale on DNagents
7 sales on Dan
2 sales on uni
6 private sales

my inventory of 3200 domains is currently listed at the following with all of the same bin prices

afternic
Uniregistry
Sedo
Dan
DNagents
Epik
Squadhelp
Alter
BRANDBUCKET
Namesilo

just a quick question, if your domain is selected on Brandbucket, are you allowed to sell or list it on other marketplaces.
no, but BB will list at some of the other marketplaces for you under their account

@RGP heres an exerpt from BB TOS

Can I list the domain for sale elsewhere?

Short answer is no. By accepting to list your name at BrandBucket you are agreeing to contract BrandBucket as the exclusive seller for the duration that this domain name is listed on the marketplace and listing the domain for sale elsewhere is in violation of our agreement.

But though BrandBucket requires exclusivity in listing domains for sale, it does offer promotional ways to promote your names on third party sites as well as cross promotions within BrandBucket’s sites. With many affiliate sites showcasing the domain names from BrandBucket for sale on their website, you’re able to expand visibility to your names. Sedo is one of those marketplaces promotions that require your verification to participate.

Sedo Connection BrandBucket has partnered with the marketplace Sedo. With one click, you can opt-in to have BrandBucket list your names on Sedo on your behalf at the same suggested price you set within BrandBucket. Sellers who wish to participate can sync their names on two platforms without having to worry about different sales teams, updating prices on multiple accounts, different name servers etc. Please be informed that, once BrandBucket lists the domains for you on Sedo, they will be removed from the Sedo account they reside in and pushed to a BrandBucket managed account. Rest assured the domain remains yours and registered at your registrar.

How to Opt-In

  • Login to your BrandBucket account, and select the "Account" tab.
  • Click the Sedo checkbox in the "Expanded Promotions" section.
  • Hit "Save" to Opt-In
Cross Domain Promotions Many domains on BrandBucket receive high traffic and buyers land on a name but often end up buying a different name. As a marketplace we offer the ability to cross promote your domains name on other domain names that are similar in nature or related. Other domains will also be eligible to be shown on the landing pages of your own names. The promotion is shown as a section at the bottom of a domains' landing page with other similar BrandBucket names suggested as alternatives.

How to Opt-In

  • Login to your BrandBucket account, and select the "Account" tab.
  • Click the Related Names checkbox in the "Account Settings" section.
  • Hit "Save" to Opt-In

Thanks! I'll try listing it all there. If a name I get accepted to BrandBucket, I'll have to take it down on all places though right?

Thanks for sharing these. Are all your sales passive ? Or do you even send out mails, not with intention of pure outbounds but to update the potential buyers of the availability of the domain ?

do you get a mail from namejet when they decline your domains?

Can I list 11 domains as portfolio on Namejet for free or must it be 15 domains?
