I have 442.com and want to sell it. 15% seems like a crazy amount of money for a broker. I have NO IDEA what the actual value of the URL might be or how to go about selling it. Any thoughts or ideas are welcome. Thanks, Steve

I'll let someone else valuate the domain. But just remember that a (good) broker is replacing your time invested in finding the right buyer, replacing your effort in finding the right buyer, using their contact list and connections, as well as providing you with skillful negotiation.

Are these things worth 15%? To me they are, because I don't have the skillsets of a broker, nor do I have the time and knowledge to find the right buyer (if I had a name like that). But you might be in a completely different circumstance - and these, as well as your alternatives, are the things to analyze.

15% may seem high but when you have a broker working for you who can comfortably negotiate and speak directly with the Chinese its $$$ well spent IMO. Brokers will more likely fetch a better price also? I'd be trying Guta. Alternatively, Tracy at eNaming.com seems to fetch good $$$ for numerics...

All the best with it :)

Someone with more knowledge of this Chinese buying craze can chime in on the estimated value for your name. You can check out http://dnjournal.com/domainsales.htm to get an idea of some previous NNN.com sales.

I would agree that 15% commission is high when you realize what your name could sell for. However, you might be able to fetch a better price then selling it by yourself, which will most likely equal more money for you even after commission. This is especially true if you don't understand the domain industry very well.

Hope you fetch a nice price for that name!

Sedo are going to have a special numeric domain auction, list it with a reserve that covers their 15%

You may want to consider a professional Appraisal/Broker for this sale; this will ensure/secure a top dollar sale. Do it yourself approach may not be wise with such high value DN. Best,
