3D Text

Hey can anyone tell me what are the best programs to make text like that in the example below. I don't want online generators so dont mention those. I want a good application - I know 3D max is one, but is there others that good or even better.

Also if you know of any plugins for Photoshop or PaintShop Pro then do let me know. You can PM me if you have any tips. I will give REP to those I find useful. Thanks in advance.

There is a cool program called ULEAD cool, its a great tool for 3D Text

I use Ulead Cool 3D.

Same as mammoth.

Lightwave is good (and cheaper than 3dsm). It's a bit of an investment if all you're going to do is make 3d text though.

Thanks hooperman, I've got Lightwave - its so damn hard to use though lol. I just got it a few days ago so I'll get used to it in time hopefully. From what I read - its amazing what it can do!

Rhino 3d +Flamingo Raytrace (for glass or metal finish)-Fairly good ,cheap. No effects
But ofcourse nothing beats a good bit of work in Max - quality of work with Polys and Fx (glow etc.) but a not so cheerfull price.
Overall i tend to work in Max but when i need NURBS i go to Rhino.

if you want just text use this software i came across on the internet like 2 months ago.... It's at www.pysoft.com click download at the top and then click on 2D 3D animator... very good for text if you want an example PM me. It's free to use as well...
