It was reported in January this year that 3dprint.com had been acquired by E&B Advertising

It's funny reading past comments about technologies that then were completely out of the imagination and now they just might work

Btw. I'm looking a general 4D thread since 4D is not only confined to printing but also to:

4dcinemas/movies (extra dimension = feeling/smelling etc.)

4dultrascans (most applicable to scanning pregnant women, please search on G about that)

4dprinting (extra dimension = time. Time will interact with the 3Dprinted object and apply different shapes. Pretty complicated to explain here, please also search)

4dAnimation (again time is the extra dimension, didn't read a lot about that tbh :P but I rushed and a bought 4DAnimation.co.uk just bc I liked the name )

...and probably more. Since they have already given -albeit indirectly- a title to the 4th dimension (aka. time), I'm pretty sure there will be a lot more to see here

Hi. That was actually my domain. I split the sale with a seasoned domain investor because even though the domain dropped last year, he still had it for sale and someone made him an offer of $8k. I got in touch because I would have taken a lot less for it had I been contacted by the buyer, and so I felt happy to share the proceeds. In appreciation, he has offered to try and sell domains from my portfolio, which I wasn't expecting! Plus, I still own 4dprinter.org and 4dprinting.org :blink:

LOL I hope so My plan was to just develop 3DPrint.com and if the site takes off it takes off. If not I'm fine sitting on the domain for a couple years as the market expands.

Headed to the Inside 3D Printing Expo and Conference in April in NYC if anyone will be there. the CEO of 3D Systems will be there among other industry big wigs.

I think its stretching it to start investing in 4D domains. 4D printers will likely never go mainstream, and the technical definition may mean that 4d rinters will be called something else in the long run.

You have a point there, that 4D printing might be called different in the future, but even now 4D printing has an exact match of 184k in google results, which to me seems a lot for a tech that 'will likely never go mainstream'

also, 4D is not only about printers, try and spend a few mins for research, you'll see there're a few categories that could go with 4D (there's a post somewhere in the forum that I showed some 4D potential niches but I don't remember where :S )

In February 2012 Apple got a patent regarding 3D interface technology and in late 2013 Microsoft filed a patent regarding a new 3D interface.

Well 3d tv did not really take off as hoped, i think it will be hard to get the critical mass to accept other 'd' versions, they seem to have moved onto 4k now
