it makes sense to add hyphens to strong keyword combos that describe/define markets that are more active/in demand in Europe than in the US.. then the hit/miss ratio may be worth the reg fees..

I haven't ever had luck with hyphens, just my opinion but unless you want to renew to sell for $xx to low $xxx than I would drop. Invest the money in a non hyphenated domain.

I fully agree with the idea about hyphens. For domainers it is akin to a death knell.
However I did pick up that one listed above (3dBio-Printer(dot)com) only because I fully believe that Bio Printers are the next biggest advancement in the medical industry.
They are already using 3D Bio Printers to print out body parts but it is still being perfected. They expect within the next 20 years (probably now 15 since it has been several years since I purchased that domain) that they will be able to have fully functioning replacement organs made from you own tissue.

That would get rid of the whole wait list for organs. It would get rid of the whole possibility of your body rejecting the new organ (made from your own tissue) and it is theorized that this process can help boost peoples lives significantly.

I did the speculative punt and picked up a hyphen domain name even though I agree with JudgeMind that hyphens are a No-No.

Domain Holdings Group has the Non-hyphenated one up for sale and they value it at $30,000. They will not entertain anything less then $10,000.
So even though I do not like Hyphenated names, I still think there is value in *SOME* of the names as long as they pertain to industry leading significance.

As far as 3d-Press is concerned, I do not think that industry is large enough to qualify a hyphen in the name (unless I am missing something). I do not see a game changing trend in the near to mid future for that name either. Personal opinion, try to sell it and recoup some of your funds.

As for Printer(s)-3D, are based off the standard in the industry. 3D Printers are nearly common place now however, you have 2 things working against you as far as domain names go (in my opinion).
The glaring first is the order of the name (printer 3d as opposed to 3d printer).
The second is the hyphen. This would be a marvelous set of names, even with the hyphens if they were in the opposite order. For me the wrong order and the hyphens kill it.

3d printed cars are coming on fast

http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/dec/09/3d-printed-electric-car

This model, called the Strati, is the result of a four-and-a-half month process, from design to finish, but according to Rogers, the CEO of Local Motors, the company behind the Strati, the timescale for future models could be cut to as little as six weeks, and the printing itself to just 24 hours. Thatโ€™s a pretty quick turnaround.

The key is simplification. On average, a car contains thousands of parts; the Strati contains just 49.

That sale was early this year.

There have only been two 3d printing related domain sales reported in the last 6 months that I know of.
Ok, three, if you count one reported in June. I don't know that they are even necessarily 3d print related.

3dmfg.com - $6,240 usd - Sedo - 6/2014
3dfashion.com - $10,000 usd - Sedo - 10/2014
3d-scan.com - $2,800 usd - Sedo - 11/2014

I agree. Btw, the current registrant seems to be a clothing retailer.

I just want to remind everyone this will be "The Next Trillion Dollar Industry"
...and yes, I'm quoting Nasdaq and Business Insider. Gotta love it.

one more reason i am not letting off my 3d domains yet.. not in this year, not in the next.. not even looking to actively sell them before 2016/2017

Sold one this summer for 2XXX Sedo fixed price after I cut the price. I have the same strings arranged in a better domain that should sell for a lot more, so it is not in my interest to publish the sale now.
