Hi guys,

I've asked about this domain already on this board. I have:

360forum.com
360forums.com

Following yesterdays Xbox 360 product announcement, a potential buyer has offered low-mid $xxxx for these 2 names. He has a similar site for the PSP, and thinks he can develop it into a site worth $xx,xxx.

I realise that this is a good price. Do you think I should sell, or maybe auction the names?

Also, a bit off topic, can anyone recommend a decent escrow service? (USA-UK transfer)
:D

I think you should develop it yourself, once you hit the 1k member mark on a forum you should be able to get high xx,xxx easy.

lol, its TOO optimistic to think you can get $xx,xxx easily!

If you get an offer of high $x,xxx take it, trust me, i Strongly doubt you will get any more, even pspforum.com or playstationforum even xboxforum.com is Not worth $xx,xxx not to mention xbox 360, we dont even know how it will do in the market. Unless you develope both with alot of posts + members, as they stand you would be lucky got get an offer of $5,000 for both imho!

Thanks for your thoughts both of you. krustie, I don't have time to develop, a partner has offered to develop on my behalf, but I think the $xxxx offer may be a better option.

domain4u, do you think $2-3000 is a fair price for these names today? The buyer would like them asap in order to develop and utilise the wave of interest the launch has created.

Cheers!

$3k is a very fair price imho! if it was xboxforum.com 5k would be fair, but the 360forum.com $3,000 is nice :)

This is always the case, playstationforum.com = worth more than playstation2forum.com :)

I wish you best of luck with your sale.

Thanks domain4u! I think it is a good price, and the specificity of the name deems that it has a limited lifespan. Thus, it should be of more value to someone who can develop it now. I think I will sell!

Thanks!!

Most definitely a sell, there are many similar names and to be offered low $x,xxx is very good - if you want to develop then pick up the name in another extension and let the seo do the work.

Good luck

I've got to agree with the majority on this one. It's a generous offer and you should accept IMHO.

The window of opportunity on this is here and now. Good luck. :)

I realize I may have overpayed but considering I am gonna be the end-user. I think I paid what I needed. I know for fact I can develop the site to fuller potential than most others. I have dozens of game related sites. PSPForums already has 21,500 pages in google and I have staff ready to start reviews, articles, and graphics. It will take me less than a week to launch the site. In a month I bet I have over 1000 members. The site once going should get 5k-10k easily. It will just take time and a lot of work.

I think a good deal for both parties involved, Jesse has the time/expertise/experience to make something of the forum and BN has a fistfull of $'s to spend unwisely :gl:
