$35 Banner Contest...Paypal

Hi guys,
I had some great designs for my last contest for Delicious Soaps and would love to do another. I am able to offer more this time, $35 for a Banner Header to go over my new site. If anyone remembers from my last request I had a fragrance shop that closed last summer. But I would like to expand my presence on the web. Unlike Delicious Soaps which is more of a "line" that I will carry, my shop Exotic Essense encompasses all that I do which is make and sell perfumes and custom blended aromatherapy oils and lotions, soaps, etc. and even a little bit of silver jewelry.

I would like a striking header to go at the top of the page of my website. The style does not have to be like the Delicious Soaps logo. This is a fresh start. I envision something hippie like, but modern. Hippie with a twist. But I'm not quite sure what the twist will be! You can come up with the twist!

The banner should read:
Exotic Essense Memphis and maybe list "lotions, perfumes, incense, candles, soaps" (this may change in the final banner) and a pic or two of something relevant.

This contest will be open for 2 weeks (ending September 21) but may end sooner.

Size? I'm not sure, whatever the standard banner size is. This is just something that will go at the top of a page.

Anyone interested? No responses yet, so not sure if no one is interested or because the deadline is so far away.

Is the Hippie vibe not descriptive enough? I could try to provide more info, if it is not clear.

(edited to add: When I say Hippie I am not looking for peace signs and tie-dye, I'm looking for more of an artistic, bohemian vibe. My main customer base is not teenagers, but 25-45 years old, professional, that likes natural custom made products. They may have at one time been hippie/bohemian though. The bohemian, oil market-type atmosphere of my store drew in many professionals looking for something "different", so I just kind of wanted to keep that look in the website, but I have doctors, lawyers, musicians (lots of musicians), etc. as customers) I'm just looking for something creative. Not sure how to describe it, but if I am stretching it too much let me know and I will try something else.

I think it's a) the time line. 2 weeks is a LONG time (Not a bad thing) and b) because there's quite a few going on atm and people are trying to finish those off and move onto the next project

Dont be disheartened I's sure Jay and Darshan will enter

Bear in mind it's the weeknd now, so you should have some entries.

Yeah we are all looking for easy and quick cash (that doesnt mean we don't deliver quality work). Also, I'm new. Your description is very "shallow". We need more details. If we know what you want (not only sizes) we can deliver whatever you want.


Oh yeah, do you have a site already? It would help a lot.

Okay...I've been trying to find sites with banners/designs that I like. So far I have only found three, but if I find more I will add them here and to the original post. Since the contest is going to last 2 weeks, I guess I have time to find more...

gr3nade, I don't have a website for Exotic Essense yet. I do have one old site with my products that is 8 years old, but it is totally unlike what this will be so I will not share it here.

Even though 2 of the above are green, I am not partial to green. I realize what I like about the above are the florishes, but my design doesn't have to have florishes, I just like the touch. I like the hummingbird in the floracopeia logo. Actually I used a hummingbird in my "logo" (if you can call it that) when I first started my business over 10 years ago. Not sure why I stopped using it. The banner doesn't have to have a hummingbird, but that is one idea that can be done.

I hope I'm not being even more confusing...

johan and hs143no, thanks but not exactly what I am looking for. I don't like the fonts, they are much too simple. And I don't like the backgrounds. None of them evoke an exotic or a bohemian feel. Don't know what to tell you to change, unless you want to start over.

hs143no, this is better. I like the font better, but I don't like the purple or the candle.

BetterHosting, I like the idea in this. But after looking at it more, I can't tell if she is relaxing or passed out. Can you make the flask in her hand look more like a perfume bottle and work on the font/text presentation a little more? I'll think more about the lady. But as I said, I do like the idea.

ooh, I like where you are going with this. The only thing is my focus is not candles. My main product is perfumes. So the candle would have to be replaced with something else. Also, can you make the font bigger with Exotic Essense larger and 'memphis" smaller (maybe underneath Exotic Essense). And also, can you experiment with the "perfumes, lotions, incense.." font? making it more readable.
