$30 logo design contest

Hi,
We need a professional-looking logo for our web directory
at http://www.romow.com.

Preferred size 300x90
Use the same background color as the header

Add this text:
"Romow", and
"Web Directory" or "Preminum Web Directory"

Design needs to go well with the template,
(but that does not limit your color choice to green background),
and of course needs to be unique, original,

It needs to be professional looking, but at the same time
aesthetically pleasing and eye catchy not to make it boring looking.

Your logo will be further developed into several banners,
so hopefully someone will design a very nice logo for us!

Cash prize (paid by paypal) is $30.

Will decide later when to end this contest,
but probably in a few days.

i just thought that the logo should (directly or indirectly) convey the fact that this site is "web directory". it's hard to tell it from your logo (except the text "web directory"). thanks,

i'm not sure whether i like your color choice. gray and orange color combination doesn't look so appealing to me..

that's a very nice and elegant graphic you've created..
can you use "Romow.com" as the title instead?
and try using a different font for "Web Directory".
the shadow effect for "web directory" text is not that visible,
and could be enhanced more..
anyway, overall, the graphic is nice, and if texts could be developed more,
it would make a nice logo.. cheers,

i think the text is developed very well (although the secondary text is a bit too small to be read). it would be nice if the text were combined nicely with some graphic element.. cheers,

hmm.. the first (original) version still looks better than your two other revisions..in the second/third revisions the main text is not as large as i want it to be. i'm wondering whether the secondary text "web directory" could be developed more (instead of using a simple text).

you made a whole set of logos...
yes, the logo that you put on the screenshot looks the best.
if possible, can you work on that version a little more?
like making the premium web directory text a little bit more readable,
respositioning the texts, etc. good job. cheers,

nicely done. ".com" is not readable in the rescaled version, so I suggest you remove it. i like the effect that you added for "Web directory", but the bended font doesn't seem to serve much purpose since there's no need for that (esp. without anything below it). maybe you can make it straight (but retaining other effects you've added).

thanks, it looks better now. some minor comments:
the border of the texts looks fine in your original design, but then when it's scaled to a smaller version, the border becomes too thin. perhaps you want to increase the border width a little bit? I guess if your design is chosen, I would set the logo size to 400x120 (a bit larger than your small version)
the other comment is, can you increase the space between "Romow.com" and "Web directory" a little bit, and make the color of the separator inbetween a bit darker (or add gradient effect to make it increasingly darker to the right)?

putting the spider for "crawling the web" concept is nice. if the logo has the spider for that purpose, i would prefer more cartoon-like spider, instead of life-like spider... but your design is not bad. cheers,
