It appears no one is buying 3 character .nets... Any sales recently? Seems I see most people almost giving them away at registration fee, just curious what you guys are finding.... Any good sales?

There are lots of 3char .net sales here and there.

But mostly deal between resellers.

I purchased one months before for $20, developed as a proxy, has made $200 back from ad revenue. Development rules.

3 Char .nets will remain the current situation unless dot net is more popular than dot com. When there is no more 3 char. com left, most domainers go to LLLL.com and NNNN.com instead of dot net. IMHO

They are all gone :). I still think 3 character .nets should still hold value though.

I have sold several for $20 - $25 that I bought in the last months (I think June '06 was the earliest purchase date) so I am happy. My big question is should I flip them for double / triple my cost or renew and hold. Renewal doubles the investment -- wonder if another year will double the value.

While they are not the latest hot thing, there are not all that many of them, they are very short, and .NET seems secure in it's number two position.

.net will never be more popular than .com. So you're saying that 3 character .net will always stay just like the current situation??? I don't think so, I think they will go up in value.

From my searching, all NNNN.com are registered as well as NNNN.net, only NNNN.org are available, .info, .biz & .us.

I mentioned this in another 3 character .net thread, but they are slow to move, so the "resale value" is mostly tagged in either a volume play (Buying enough at reg fee to sell at $15-$20 to make it worth your while) or a long sit and hold.

There's a couple non LLL sales in there, but looks like just random ones that aren't going to happen again. (p62? :|)

It wasn't that long ago that CCC.com domains had a wholesale value of $30 on the 3character.com but the jump from $30-$95 has been very fast. I'm guessing that the rise to a $30 wholesale value may be quite slow but once they have an accepted market value of over $30, they will become a lot more attractive to resellers/investors & endusers.

A bulk of the last 20% of these domains were bought at RegisterFly's pricing (<$3) or Monikers pricing ($5.49).
The better 80% of the CCC.net domains are selling for higher values than the last 20%.
CCC.net domains at RegisterFly sell for >$7.
CCC.net at Moniker.com sell for >$8.25

Therefore, I would tend to argue that CCC.net domains have risen in value >50% in the last 5 months. (They ran out 5 months ago) That's pretty good going in my opinion.

Not my auction, and no ref link, but for those of you that think that 3 char .net's are a good medium play, keep your eyes on afternic's bazaar for a 3 char .net's that go for $10 or less.

(Only one for sale at the moment - but have purchased here before on the cheap)

Another place to look is the ebayer DomainCastle's CCC.nets on auction. MQ0.NET domains sold for $7.40 today. The few people who have won auctions on the names there have been getting bargains.

I still own the ONLY Genuine 3CHAR.net

Sales are still slow for 3char .nets but even the only geniune 3char.net (http://www.3char.net) is only worth what some-one is willing to pay for it
not some inflated value (like some sellers expect)
