We have our Winner.

Or to be more precise, our winners! Both StatD and Will7 submitted VERY compelling banner / logos. Each was so well done that we still can't decide which one to use.

First Place: StatD (post #57) and Will7 (#59). Each will receive $25.
Second Place: Balmong (#42) will receive 100 NP$.
Third Place: Border7 (#65) will receive 50 NP$.

PM will be sent to all the winners.

What about the colors?

Let creativity be your guide; however, it should stand out on a neutral shaded site. Think about colors that might look good on a T-Shirt. Triathletes where lots of Tees.

All custom-made in vector format. I tried to incorporate both elements of the name - "Triathlon" (sports figures) and "Talk" (speech bubble). If chosen, logo will be supplied in .jpg, .gif, .eps and .ai formats.

I like the concept, but the execution needs a little tweeking.

If you are going to go with the three athletes doing the activities, they should all somehow be of similar size. The logo should be as balanced as possible. Also, I'm not sure that clip art will cut it. Lastly, the catch phrase should be: "it's your race", if you feel the need to show one.

www.phillytri.com - check out the logo in the lower left - I really like the clean lines of this one

nice... I think it would look even better with just the swimmer but of course it would lose the relationship of the "tri"-athlon. but still a nice logo... i like your style will, all the designs i have seen of yours are very clean and professional looking and I can always identify your work.

I like the stuff I've seen so far... if y'all are stumped on the bike, run, swim thing, it's not a requirement. Even a triangle will suffice. In two of the submissions, the cyclist and the runner detract from the presentation.

The solid one I like a lot. Just:

1. lose the slogan and the slogan banner
2. lower the Triathlon Talk so the talk bubble comes out of the T in talk
3. you may need to resize the bubble and the artwork so it's balanced
4. Remove the italics on Triathlon, but I like them for Talk
5. use brighter colors if possible.

If you do this you'll have our first viable submission.

Now that I see some examples, here are some additional guidlines:

1. The swim, bike, and run icons are not required. Creative interpretation, like a triangle will suffice.

2. Use VIVID colors. Hot pink, blues, etc. This logo should stand out.

3. No slogan is required, just the words Triathlon Talk.

Thanks Sylense. I can always identify your work too, but, we have very different styles which I feel, makes for a good competition. I focus on being clean and professional and it is the core focus of my freelance work. Your work is damn fine too though

Revisions:

Still kept the three figures, but made them blend in more. Also changed the colours and changed the slogan.

Here's my entry:

I decided to go with your idea of text only Name-Maker. I applied a little "swoosh" as well as give the text an effect to make it more fluid than the static horizontal type.

Let me know of any revisions needed for color or anything.
